This team deserves relegation. This board deserves relegation. However I will never understand people saying "we're down" when we are one win from safety.

I'm not deluded, we're only still in there swinging cos the teams around us are dreadful, but some posters are talking like we need to find a billion points.

Another scenario (bear with me):

if Leeds lose tomorrow and (looking toward to next weekend) Forest lose or draw with S'ton (the most winnable game of all three team's remaining fixtures), the way things are set up regarding the fixtures for all 3 teams, I think we could afford to lose Monday and still take it to the last day.

I know that's leaping forward and back in time, but you know what I mean.

Overall, here's my thinking: if it does go to the last day I'm taking my chances with us even if needing a home win against B'mouth while both Leeds and Forest just need a draw against Spurs (H) and Palace (A) respectively. I dont see both of them getting points on that final day's fixtures.

If I was a fan of either of those two clubs I'd see that in the distance as a big danger looming.

One variable you are not accounting for is VAR.

You seriously think if it comes to last game of season VAR won't intervene?

Agreed but our away record is equally dreadful mind if a win is what's needed

Has anyone done a week by week account of how this will now play out

See West Ham have tough games now against City, Utd, Brentford. If they pick nothing up from these they remain on 34 points with Leeds and Leicester to play.

Think those 2 games could decide a lot

I cant believe that, even with everything that is going on with possible relegation, the boards mismanagement and fans getting accused od all sorts 97% of season tickets have been renewed WITHOUT knowing what division we will be playing in.....

As said previously, Evertonians are amazing, I don`t think many clubs would be able to do that! Continually let down yet we go back in our numbers... I think with that backing the club will get back, I just don`t know when that is likely to be.

Everton is a huge club.

Everybody - board, fans, and media - has forgotten that as standards and expectations were deliberately managed down over the last 35 years.

I think Forest may stay up.
Southampton are down
Will be whoever gets to 36 points or more with best goal difference.
Us, Leicester, Leeds and West Ham - I reckon will be 2 of this 4, with us in the worse position, needing results, with at least 2 wins, against Leicester, Wolves and Bournemouth to be sure.

Get beat Monday and we have to get 6 points from those last 2 and hope.
Win on Monday and we need 4 points from all remaining.

Big Ask.

I love to optimism. I’ve given up hope tbh. Relegation is what we need. If we can survive financially with the new stadium n’all then one thing I’d hope to achieve from relegation is no more prima donna’s! Our team is a joke, right now we’re worse than Notts Forest. Let that sink in. Wholesale changes required. Sell the lot of em frankly. Not impressed with Tarkowsli, Coady, Keane, Mykolenko, Godfrey, docoure, Gueye, DCL, sell ‘em all. Unfortunately, this is the dross we’ll be left with as any half decent player will have to be sold to balance the books. Bleak times to be a blue.
No, mate, it is an existential threat to this football club. We have to take the gift that Forest have given us and beat Leicester on Monday. Whether we will is a completely different question, however.

I think we are down mate and I’ll tell you why

To win a game of football requires u to score more goals than the other team.
Everton can’t score more then 1
Everton can’t keep a clean sheet

There for one of the above has to change. An I can’t see either happening
