I can't see Leicester throwing away this chance at home, any more than I could see Everton losing it if the positions were reversed. The atmosphere will be murderous and our delicate boys will shrink before it. However nothing is lost until it is lost so maybe we might snatch a nil nil draw.
Whilst I fear a defeat as much as the next guy, if we can frustrate there fans for the opening period they will begin to turn on the team and that could play in to our hands.

I appear to be allowing the hope back in, Everton will of course destroy that but I'll enjoy it whilst it's here.

Only way we are staying up as I see it, is if we are still in the mix with the last two games to play.
If we win this one, get out of the bottom three, then let the others tear each other apart as they are all plying each other. i still think it will end up being Saints, Forest and Leeds who go down, we survive by a whisker and sales of Gaviscon an all time market high.

Which relies on us matching the points haul of Leeds, Leicester and Forest whilst we play Leicester away, Man City at home and Brighton away….hopefully we get 3-4 points from those games otherwise we are relying on all three teams getting next to nothing from their two to three fixtures - I don’t see the latter happening

I don’t think Leeds or Forest will add any points to their total , certainly before we all reach our last two games anyway.
A point today keeps us in with a good chance.
A win and I’d favour us to stay up, just.

In what other universe, would you wake up on a Bank Holiday morning and think to yourself, " I know how I`ll spend my day off work, I`ll post non stop dirge about how many Everton are going to get beaten by tonight, how all the other teams down there with them, are all fighting for the shirt, the club and their fans, despite all of them getting beaten this weekend, posting graphs, charts, league tables and the most recent - " what if league tables " to back up their doom laden posts.
My therapist says it’s good to express my emotions.

Even with Forests next game being Southampton at home? I don’t think that would be a surprise result if they win and that would be 3 points. I agree with Leeds but we can’t discount a surprise result (as we can‘t with us either) - a point wouldn’t be disaster but would then mean we are more heavily relying on other games results going our way. My preference would be to avoid that by planting our future back firmly in our own hands as early as possible by winning tonight

It’s safe to say this is how the weekend results have me feeling .

There is no way Leeds and Forest both lose all of their remaining games. They will pick up a few points somewhere.
Their remaining fixtures look very tough.
Anyway leave my fragile optimism alone you beast!! 🙂
I forgot Forest play Southampton though , there goes a bit of optimism 🫤

It is a little strange - some of the opinions…..it’s a view that we could very well pick up points but the other teams won’t. We are all rubbish so other teams are statistically as likely to pick up points as we are, but that seems to be conveniently ignored. My view on this is very simple, after tonight if we win we are out of the bottom 3, if we draw we won’t be virtue of goal difference. We then have to amass more points in our remaining four games than two of the other three teams which may be a difficult task so let’s win tonight

There's still an outside chance for Southampton then.

They win at Forest and then beat Fulham at home and that takes them to 30 points.

Could be bottom with two games to go if they do that!
