With Brighton and City being the next 2 fixtures, tonight is the very definition of a must win. While a draw might stop Leicester from going too far ahead, we have to take into account that we may get nothing at all in the following 2 matches and could already be relegated when it comes to the final 2.

They simply have to show up tonight and get the 3 points or it could be as good as over.

For us to already be relegated in that scenario it would mean Forest and Leeds both winning their next two games.

Not going to happen.

Is tonight gong to be the final let down/insult?

This Everton side is incapable of winning away, just 1 all season.... I can`t see us winning at all, there is a lot on here having big hopes for tonight (without substance), I`m afraid those thinking this is the start of the survival are going to be very very disappointed.

Confirmation of the worst for the most positive incoming....

So they aren’t incapable then.

In what other universe, would you wake up on a Bank Holiday morning and think to yourself, " I know how I`ll spend my day off work, I`ll post non stop dirge about how many Everton are going to get beaten by tonight, how all the other teams down there with them, are all fighting for the shirt, the club and their fans, despite all of them getting beaten this weekend, posting graphs, charts, league tables and the most recent - " what if league tables " to back up their doom laden posts.

Not for you, it isn't.

I mean, you've already given up. That's fine. I'm not criticising. I think it's pretty rational from a mental health perspective to have next to no faith in this team to get themselves out of trouble. As you say, one away win all season suggests that win is not coming tonight, at Brighton, or at Wolves. That really only leaves Bournemouth as a punt.

But when you take the position above - which I respect - then you can't claim to have been "let down" if we lose at Leicester. Surely, you have already priced that in. If you hadn't, then it's just moaning for the sake of it.

As I said, I have very little expectation that we will stay up. I have a smidgin of hope because the margins at the bottom are still so small. But losing tonight will not be the final insult. The Kewnright regime as a whole is what has been insulting. We're only seeing its inevitable consequences now.

I`m sure there will be more like me, it`s not a good time for any of us, you`ve got to make peace with it because if you are sure we are staying up it will hurt so much more...

To be fair I have scheduled in a lunch break

Agreed. Everybody has to protect themselves as best they can. We're all going though the agonies. That's why I try not to get too irritated with my fellow Evertonians even if I feel they need, sometimes, to get a grip, a little perspective. I saw a video on YouTube last night called "Dear Everton" from a fan who, frankly, looked to be going through a minor mental health crisis in advance of tonight's game. And exhibiting it. I don't think that's in any way healthy.

I think it's perfectly rational to get yourself into the acceptance stage of this shock process. Some of us are probably still in the denial or bargaining phases - but each defeat moves us along. Be nice to yourself and to others, as difficult as that can be.

At the end of the day, it's only football. Sure, that's the most important trivial thing in the world, but it remains trivial. Perspective is needed. Relegation is saddening and maddening, but it is not something that a healthy person will allow to materially damage their lives. We're all suffering. We're all going through the horrors. But life will go on after tonight's defeat - if that is what it is. We'll get through it, together.

I dont get the logic of thinking ‘we will beat Bournemouth last game’ so lets hope for that. We need points now. I doubt we will win but we need to go all out for 3 pts tonight. But if we see the same defende we are lost.
