My somewhat delusional optimism has almost evaporated. A loss to Brighton, unfavourable results for other relegation candidates, and it will be completely snuffed out. Can’t imagine being in the Championship. Utterly disgusted with what our board have allowed to unfold over the past few years. They can’t be forgiven, even if we by some miracle survive, and must go.

Tavernier hasn't been bad for them. If we had to get one from that outfit we should have got him.

….I thought you like defenders who can defend. Tavernier is a terrific pro, his attacking record is remarkable for a full back but he’s dreadfully slow and out of the game when the ball goes beyond him. I think it’s telling that clubs haven’t tried to bring him back to England but he is great for Rangers.

Was more interested how his brother did stepping up this season.

I do.

That league encourages an Old Firm FB to emphasise their attacking qualities because they know they wont get punished being out of position most of the time.

I know we could do with FBs that get up and support the attack. We're desperate for one when Coleman is injured.

He was superb for them in Europe last season.

Doesn’t really work like that though. Could equally say we would have points from the Leicester game at Goodison if Tieleman’s hadn’t have hit a worldie when they’d done nothing all first half.

If Calvert Lewin taps in against Leicester maybe we beat them, if Coady isn’t offside v Liverpool maybe we beat them.

Those things didn’t happen though, and Coleman did score v Leeds. It’s a keeper error yes but they happen to other teams all the time.

I know that but what I'm trying to say, even our wins have hardly been convincing. Beside Palace at home this season, I can't remember the last comfortable win in the league. A lot of games decided on fine margins either way and a lot of heavy defeats.
