Nothing is certain yet - this is still going to call for a huge effort to avoid relegation. We cannot afford any complacency!

Amongst the clubs listed: Leicester, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Southampton, Swansea City, Watford, West Brom and Wolves

They have a long list of PL clubs that owe them money. And oddly enough, at least in the article, Moshiri is listed as one of the good guys-- “In an ideal world I think most fans would prefer that the club owner takes on the form of a benevolent dictator and gifts the club the money through an interest-free loan, like Farhad Moshiri has done at Everton. But they are always much harder to find.”

Wonder how much they owe. Leicester don’t have plenty of sellable assets. That’s why it’s surprising to see them where they are. Maddison, tielemens, Barnes, etc…They’ll all fetch good money.

No, it was just one of those things that was going about at the time and got mentioned in a few places, was something to do with a clause in Lampards contract, I can't honestly remember.

This is why I love my cuddly Farhad. His only flaw is keeping the slug on board.

I guess it depends on how much they actually borrowed. Like they wouldnt have borrowed 100% of 3 or 4 years PL TV money, would they?

This is a good point-- I imagine these clubs, when borrowing, are spreading the repayment across seasons so its not a mega-hit to the coming season's TV money. If Leicester really has already burned every cent up to the start of 2025-26, that's a major problem, even if they stay up.

This is a good point-- I imagine these clubs, when borrowing, are spreading the repayment across seasons so its not a mega-hit to the coming season's TV money. If Leicester really has already burned every cent up to the start of 2025-26, that's a major problem, even if they stay up.

We have no idea about the terms of the facility Leicester have agreed, but if that tweet is correct, then the SECURITY that the bank sought, (PL cash), might vanish. If so, the bank may have recourse to have first dibs on EFL/parachute payments cash to protect their balance sheet.

Its kinda like, in our normal world, having a house. "Can I have a mortgage please?" "Sure, but we own the house mate, just in case like".

House falls in value/lose a job, bank still wants their money back.

I suppose the thing to do before you mortgage off your parachute payments is to make sure you don't get relegated.

If they go into the final 3 games with the same attitude and levels they did on Monday I don't think we will have a problem staying up.

City are still city regardless of how we play, if they turn up they will win, but the last 2 games against teams who have nothing to play for, we SHOULD be wanting it more than they do.

Tottenham, West Ham and Palace all concern me here. All will be on the beach and I fancy them not to be bothered at all about their league form

Oh ye ideally we get something on Sunday, but being honest it doesn't matter Everton turn up, it depends what city turn up.

I don't fancy wolves away either, their home form under lopageti or whatever he's called is brilliant, so think it does unfortunately go down to the final day for us

And Maddison's only got a year left so they won't be getting top dollar for him either.

Yeah the few higher valued players they have mostly have only a year or two left on contracts, the lower valued players in their squad seem to be the ones on the longer contracts so they could well end up with a bit of a fire sale there.
