By and large and since Dyche arrived, I think players and staff, limited as they are, have tried their best most of the time.
A lap of honour isn't appropriate (if we stay up) and out of the question otherwise but whether we do or not, getting the board out is the next task.
It’s been mentioned before that the lap of appreciation is for the players to show their appreciation to us fans.
And blimey, rightly so this season more than ever.

I don’t want to see a lap of appreciation, I want fans on the pitch shouting for the board to go - just like when we beat Coventry to stay up. The media then won’t be able to turn a blind eye to the situation at Board level. (Not encouraging this behaviour)

The nearer it get's to the game the more worried I'm starting to feel about Leicester winning. Seems quite possible Newcastle have an off night.
Leicester who have won 1 game in 14 and look completely demorolised!
Leeds and Leicester are terrible sides and for weeks now people are panicking that these terrible sides will beat good sides.
The only time that has happened is that we beat brighton

I was quite surprised when their manager came out publicly after their last game and said the squad was demoralised. Not a great look.

Ah me lads, ye shudda seen us gannin’, We pass’d the foaks upon the road just as they wor stannin’; Thor wes lots o’ lads an’ lasses there, all wi’ smiling faces, Gannin alang the Scotswood Road, to see the Blaydon Races.

For the second season running, we fail to hit the 40 point mark. Only 33 points after 37 played is beyond pathetic. Even with a win next week, we end up averaging below 1 point a game. We are extremely lucky neither Leeds or Leicester have delivered even on par with expectations.
I hope we stay up but if we do, it wont be due to getting ourselves out of trouble. It will be due to a complete failure from two other teams.
Lets hope for a spotless end to the season for Newcastle, Spurs and West Ham. Then we can afford to loose the final homegame as well.
West Brom stayed up in 04/05 with 34 points.
So if we all lose our games we will hold the record for least amount of points to stay up in the PL!
Get that on the Goodison timeline

Can’t see it. Newcastle, to their credit, have a winners edge to them now.

I hear what you say and agree with you.

However the difference between Leicester and Leeds is that Leicester do have some good attacking options with Maddison and Barnes (or Tielemans crashing one in from 25 yards). Just really worried it might click for them and it not to be in our hands on the final day.

To be fair I think that’s natural. I was more than confident that Leicester wouldn’t win away to Newcastle but now the game is upon us, I’m also starting to fear the worst. When you love your club so much and you find yourselves in these bad situations, it’s only natural that logic goes out of the window and you start to fear that a freak result will happen to the detriment of your club.

The good news is, we’re entering end game and we only have 6 more days of this left before we’re all put out of our misery one way or the other.

Newcastle had an off day against Leeds away where they sank to their level. Of course we might be really unpleasantly surprised tonight, but this Leicester team looks so fragile that if Newcastle bag the first they should crumble.

C’mon you Geordies, slap them for 6 or 7.

Yep they just need it to click like it did for us v Brighton or a red card
