It’s a shoot out now, essentially everyone has to win and we have our noses in front. We can control the controllable, if we do our part we don’t have to worry about anyone else.
And i think being in our own hands may be better (i think but not sure with our players and some will say it's worst) none of this hoping to win and hoping other results go for us, if we lead and obviosuly win we know we are safe - we have to be careful with the cheers from other games as we could cheer for a goal and its chalked off for VAR etc

Hard to believe Leicester were playing amazing football and winning the FA cup just two years ago with largely the same 14 players they had involved tonight!

Of course teams have crashed and burned quickly before but likes of Villa, Sunderland, Southampton and a few others usually lost 2-3 key players and replaced them with duds and rest of side isn't that good.

Leicester got a point to keep them alive but even Mourinho wouldn't have restorted to that type of bus parking, not a single shot on goal until the 92nd minute.

They were very lucky not to concede at least once from a set piece so that's where West Ham can hurt them even if they wouldn't dominate like Newcastle did. There's certainly no way Leicester could win on final day playing like that so they'll have to be more open and so West Ham will have chances on the counter like v Leeds.

I also think a point for them will at least make playing out a draw pretty unlikely at Goodison which looked possible with just Leeds in play. Get at Bournemouth in first 20 minutes, see what their mentality is and hopefully go a goal up as that wouldn't half cut the atmosphere straight away in Leicester and Leeds.
I mean, fair enough if you're doing the rope-a-doper and inviting early pressure...but you have to step out from behind your guard and land a good few punches in the latter stages. Leicester look like they thought waiting until the end to land the KO blow was a great idea. It made no sense in the position they are in.

Now they have to play attacking football against their last opponent - a team that can be deadly on the counter attack.

Dean Smith is an idiot. If I were a Leicester fan I'd want his head on a pike right now.

I’ll try this again, my maths is crap..

27 result combinations possible. We stay up with 19.

(Not factoring in the 3 goal Leeds swing chance).

Let this sink in..... Bournemouth have won their last four meetings against us FOUR!!!.

We need to win so desperately and they will want to end their season on a win. It's going to be tough and I am bricking it already.

We cannot rely on the teams playing Leicester and Leeds to avoid defeat against them, especially with Spurs being so "Spursey" at the moment. It never works out for relegation battlers.

This will be the darkest day in the history of Everton football club if this goes on the way it has.

Listen mate, as a Spurs fan I slag is off more than anyone and have already said we’re terrible and likely to lose at Elland road.

That said, even as pessimistic as I am, there is no faaacking chance we get beat by 3 clear goals to Jabba’s Leeds - Leeds are done unless both you and Leicester contrive to lose.

So true mate
Last year I had a bit if a scary time heath wise.
Thought sod this I am off on holiday.
Got a bit of good news the day before I went , spent most of the holiday thinking about Everton,
Watched two games out there , including the Palace game,
Was like a raving loon, had to apologise to a bar full of people for the way I was carrying on at the end.
But the day after we stayed up ,
I thought what was all that about.
There are more important things in life than Everton, after 60 years it hit me like a brick in the face.
Life and Everton both go on not worth getting to wound up about either it's a waste of energy.
I had gone through allsorts and all I was bothered about was are results, its pathetic when you tarhink about it.

I won't go into details but between close family and close friends of more than 35 years, this week we are much more concerned about the reality of loved ones with some serious illnesses and, sadly this evening, a passing of a lad in his 60s.

Tbh the thought of EFC surviving and us having to look at those clowns in the PL for another season just leaves me cold.

Worried about a pitch invasion?? If I were there and we survived I would turn around and head out of the ground ASAP.

I really don't care about those players or that Management....nor, I know, do they give a damn about you or me.

54 years supporting this Club, and always will be a Blue in the Tradition of Dean, Lawton, Mercer, Farrell, Eglinton, Young, the Trinity, therep stalwart hearts of the tough 70s and early 80s, the Kendall team, the Joe Royle Dogs of War.

I have just no interest or passion for these absolute disgraces to the Jersey on and off the field.

Get out of this Club and stop tearing true supporters' hearts apart with your mercenary attitude.

I repeat....on and off the field.

There is a number of whom I can count on the fingers of one hand that have behaved with the pride and passion that behoves being privileged to be actually paid to represent Everton.

Most of us know well who they are.

The rest.....just go!

Some seem fine about it. I've said we're down for months now so tonight changes nothing for me. Pathetic display imo. First clean sheet since before the world cup though lol
I thought that was absolute insanity from Smith tonight, I couldn’t believe they were actually time wasting at points, yes Newcastle were probably going to dominate but most of the night that looked like a league one team desperately trying to earn a cup replay. A win tonight was SO MUCH better than a draw- win and with the goal difference you’re probably 75% staying up, draw and you’re maybe still 75% going down. It was like they only twigged with five to play.

That will be Matty lol
