I wish I had your confidence Dave, fair play. I just had an awful feeling about that Leicester Draw against Newcastle.
@davek - the best value poster on this forum - has been tremendous through all of this relegation battle. He's been rallying the flagging troops like a Toffeeopolis Vera Lynn. I tend to agree with him on 90% of the stuff. He's far more perceptive than his notoriety suggests. When Dave takes a position - even one you disagree with him on - be nervous. He's very often correct (even when his stance is controversial). For these reasons, I hope his optimism will be borne out once more. To be fair to him, his "optimism" is usually just logic. But it's the hardest thing in the world to be logical under the pressure this fanbase is now subject to.

Like yourself, I think we might just come up short today and that Leicester point will prove to be critical. But, that said, it's in our own hands and, well, we have an obligation to seize that chance now. Here in Germany, Bayern are not popular (amongst neutrals). But nobody today feels any sympathy for Dortmund after they proved themselves incapable of taking the championship at home against a mid-table side yesterday. There is no sympathy for chokers. Not when titles are being handed out. People respect that Bayern - who had to win the title with a late goal away - showed us all what a champion team looks like. Today, I hope Dave is right. But if he isn't, we'll have to accept that we weren't good enough. And then be as ruthless as Bayern were yesterday in sacking their top two executives.

Interesting how many of your posts seem to be defending/praising Dave.

This is a mad take that even Davek will be proud of

I feared worse that night.

The last round of games were THE big danger to us: after we got a point against Wolves it opened the door to both Leeds and Leicester to get above us. They both failed.

Since the end of the Newcastle-Leicester game the nerves just left me. I'll be nervous again today, of course. But we start out from a very strong position and the other two are looking a bit forlorn, tbh.

If we do go down I would encourage the fans at the ground today to make their feelings known in any way they feel appropriate

Better to be 2 points up than 2 point down. We have to capitalise on that.
