Not a perfect day of results but relegation rivals getting single points at home doesn't kill you.
Not the worst day at all. I think a draw should be the aim Monday but an unlikely win would set us up nicely to start an escape. Everyone below Leicester are still bang in the middle of a fight for the rest of the season I reckon and if we can start grinding out results then it won't be long before we'd be out of it. Ultimately for the job of a relegation fight we argueably have the best manager to get out of it with on paper one of the best squads.

Southampton may as well give up now and Bournemouth don't have it in them to keep up a fight for the rest of the season. After Liverpool we've got 3 or 4 very winnable games on the bounce 2 of which come against Leeds and Forest, beat those 2 at least and we'll start to make a bit of a gap. Think it'll be Leeds to be the third team down, they've got some decent players but I think a new manager could be trouble for them if they don't get the absolute perfect fit.

If we can start a bit of a run then we'll be alright, there's a real lack of quality around us, aside from maybe West Ham who'll be in turmoil for a bit longer until they inevitably sack Moyes. The longer that goes on the better for us. The more clubs around us the easier it is to climb out of it due to less pressure on us directly.

It's not fair that these years of pain have meant our mentality is still a draw or unlikely win, when Wolves and several others have been beating the Reds. I hope we can just use this opportunity to make this work, and for once NOT play another team back into form. Come onnnnn...

I'm sorry to say I disagree. I think we are competing against teams who are just as likely to put a run together as we are. Last year I thought Burnley, Watford and Norwich were really poor - outside of Southampton and Bournemouth I'm struggling for that 3rd team this time around.

We need to keep the momentum going. 3 points minimum from the next 2 games or things will start to look even more grim.

Yes, we ARE competing against teams who may put together a run just as we are. But there are 4-5 of them. They literally cant all go on a run because either that means the table flips with the top teams all losing, or they are beating eachother. We really dont care about a team going on a run. If we get to 38 points, we will almost surely be fine, because teams have to play eachother and not every bad team is going to suddenly become better than top half teams.

Disagree. Leeds are the ones. Or match with them next week will be huge. If we can get anything on Monday, and they don't get anything against Utd tomorrow, then if we beat them, we climb out of the relegation zone and they drop in. They don't have many easy games to come and end the season v Spurs, whereas we're v Bournemouth.

I don't see Forest getting dragged in now. Steve Cooper is a very good manager. He just had too many new players to bed in (oo-er!) at the start of the season.
I'm hoping that was the end of forests little patch of form.
Although they got the 3pts last week and that is all that matters, Leeds completely dominated that game.
