Maybe I'm an optimist but I still see no signs in this team that we're in any massive trouble like others seem to want to say. We're not gonna be very good, that's clear for anyone to see but when you look at it Bournemouth are already down, so that's 2 spots left. Villa are apparently in uproar with Gerrard at the minute, Wolves look shaky, Forest signed a full squad of players that most likely will take time to know each other at the very least and Southampton are always up for an absolute downing of tools too.

I watch us now compared to watching us last year and I see a team that's short on players in areas but that's being addressed but I also see a team that are playing together and have some idea what to do, it might be the wrong idea in some games but at least it's there. I think Tarkowski and Coady will win a lot of points for us this year just by virtue of keeping the ball out of the net, if Maupay and other forwards can contribute along with DCL staying fit then there's no reason why we can't be much better than we were last year.

Like I said, it won't be a great season or anything like that but I really don't see us being in trouble, especially not like last year.

To not be in trouble, team would need to be on 40 points by middle of April. Just equalling 39 points by end of season looks a massive stretch currently. How many away wins in that as today was another opportunity missed against non top 10 team.

If you take away the first 5-6 games of last season team has been averaging under a point a game for over 30 games now and it's continued into this season so form like that for nearly a year now under two different managers simply can't be ignored I'm afraid.

Of course other teams will be down there. Last time Villa sacked the manager they won 3 of first 4 games under Gerrard to lift them quickly into mid table so same could easily happen again in a few weeks. Bit optimstic to think likes of them, Wolves and Leicester will be down there all season.

Wolves did not look too shaky to me against Spurs last week and have a huge amount of quality in midfield. Villa are struggling but have too much quality like Leicester. I would say it is between us the promoted sides and possibly Saints

Wolves didn't but I'd say the same about us against Chelsea to be fair. Villa have quality on paper but so did we last year, some of their best players can be injury prone as well. I'm not saying I see them going down but being in the fight is almost enough, especially if they change the manager which basically everyone is predicting, that's an advantage we'll have over other teams I think too, I doubt Lampard is gonna lose his job unless it's going clearly and catastrophicly wrong.

Anybody got big Sams number, no address i ll pay the taxi fare.

Truly, Frank loses at Leeds, RS , Arsenal 21points, hell have 2.
Not saying he is totally to blame.4years of waste, crap recruitment, silly contracts.
We have been unlucky with injuries, very very .
But all things taken into account.8games played after West Ham.24points.
If and its a possible if , not nailed on hes got 6points out of 24.
How long has he got, if we get.Diaz, Gardener,Idrissa, DCL fit, a replacement for Gordon.
6 games in Oct.That 13games , 39 points.
4wins 1loss,1draw.13 +6.19point tally by 1Nov.
Depends on where we are against tge rest of the league.
So come out of International break , no,or 1 win then go on a bonker run.

Doubt it.

Franks sadly in trouble, we are in trouble again.
Would he survive??? 15 points from 39.Doubt it.
If ya going to change the manager AGAIN for who.
Well a specialist in getting enough points to stay up..A way of playing that wins points, not friends, or keep fans happy.

Still time before transfer deadline

As it stands we'll probably get stuffed against the rs

If Gordon leaves who knows, but we can't go through what happened last season again

Really trying to be positive but feel the next few days are crucial for our survival.

If we get this wrong we could be in deep doo-doo. We looked very vulnerable today even with so called "leaders" at the back.

We need more creativity, more guile and more goals.

The lesson learned from last year is a league season is about the squad not the first team. I think we've done good work to reinforce the squad this summer, and am hopeful a few more can come in, loans or otherwise, to add more depth and hopefully a bit of quality. Other teams have started quicker than us with their first teams mostly available but as the season goes on it's about the squad.

Bournemouth will go down. Fulham have started OK but their squad is thin. Any significant time missed by Mitrovic and they're screwed. Southampton's squad is worse than ours, Leicester, Wolves and Leeds look a bit vulnerable, Forest are a lottery. It's been a mediocre start but we'll see the benefit of this summer's business gradually. A strong end to the window and the quality and depth of the squad should see us clear. Just need to not panic in the meantime.
