People still going over the top, last night was not in any way a game we were relying on to get points. Still some twists to go yet, the team love giving us hope just at the point it looks we have none and then pull the rug from us again when things look OK. It will be like a game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe to whether we end on a high or a low.

If we lose the next two games then we are done for, simply mustn't get beat at forest and a win at Goodison. Or swap them around as long as we get 4 points.

Nah, we’re gone. We needed to beat Villa at home. Getting beat then is what sealed relegation for me.

We simply cannot compete in the Premier League because we don’t have goals in this team.

If you cant score you cant win games.
Not rocket science.

Everywhere on the pitch isnt great but possibly enough to scrap in a relegation fight. However, that grinds to a halt up front. By a million miles the worst in the league. Non existent. Can debate until the cows come home. Didnt address it at the start of the season. Didnt address it in january.

Its that simple.

You know when websites prompt you to set an answer to a security question and one of the questions is "What is your favourite sports team?".

Guess what I'm having a fun morning updating. lol

Yep. I think the rest of the team would have enough to get us lower-mid table. If we had a goal scoring threat, it’d change the whole dynamic and make games more competitive. Even if we didn’t score, we’d be more likely to grind out a 0-0 because opposition would be more wary of our attacking threat and set up accordingly. As they know we’re a soft touch going forward, it gives them more license to attack.

Haha, I never put Everton for that. I’m so glad the F1 season is starting this week to take my focus off this clown show!

No team in the 4 divisions has scored less than us. Football really isn't a complicated sport.

Pessimistic - 12 points will see 33 total – relegation certainty.

Somehow we have to steal another 6/7 points from those games and I am not at all confident that this group give a toss to do that.

If we got the results we need – very unlikely - 46 – comfortably safe

I mean, I understand the gloom and frustration.

But given that we’ve got games such as Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth at home, and games which aren’t horrendous on paper like Crystal Palaxe and Leicester, I’d say we’ve still go everything to play for.

Losing to villa wasn’t the end, we as fans, as hard as it is, need to make Goodison hell for the remaining 6 games, and then try find a win away.

Havent even got a dyche type lump up there to whack a few centre halves. We've morphed into Burnley minus the dyche type bruiser up top.

We're gone.

I admire your optimism, and I’m not usually one for giving up at all, but this is different. I reckon it’s a coping mechanism - preparing myself for relegation to soften the blow combined with literally decades of disappointment with Everton.

Of course we could still theoretically gather enough points to stay up, but I think the reality is we’d need to win what, at least five games with zero attacking threat. It’d be a case of grinding out 1-0 wins each time, probably with goals through set pieces. That is a massively-talk order.

Points are what counts but goals are generally critical in getting enough points to survive. The lowest scoring team will end up relegated. Mathematically you could have 38 scoreless draws and survive. No one does that. Not sure any team has survived with less than 30 goals in the Premier League. It is too hard to get the points you need without goals. This team is near death because it can't score.
Not the point I was making though was it. Was asking how often staying up came down to goal difference.

My optimistic predictions only put us on 39 points - possibly enough for safety, but I still think getting those 39 is very unlikely.
