As we’re virtually safe, should we withdraw the appeal? Wouldn’t want more points deducted for appealing

Why would we get more points deducted for appealing? I feel like this is something the forum has collectively made up in its head.

That’s not the same thing as not getting anything back. People seem to have this idea in their heads that if we go through the appeal and end up getting nothing back, then it must’ve been a frivolous appeal and therefore slap more points on, it’s a nonsense and that’s not how it works.

If it’s considered spurious?

It won’t be. There’s so few settled rules or precedents that the IC had to make some stuff up off the top of their heads (like the calculation for double jeopardy), and the purpose of the appeal is to have that sort of thing challenged and reviewed. It’s a process we’re well entitled to.

There’s an argument to withdraw the appeal if safe, just to avoid the expense and the hassle, but they won’t add points on for a frivolous appeal.

If that's the ICs opinion they'll just dismiss the appeal and the 2 point penalty will stick.

No more points are going to be deducted.

….players don’t live in a vacuum; points deductions, a missing owner, no effective Board or governance is bound to manifest itself on the pitch. Fans get uptight, players become scared to make mistakes, everything becomes nervous.

It’s a remarkable achievement surviving what’s happening at our club.
