4 games is a ridiculous sample to judge on
It’s not just these 4 games though is it? It’s the games last year as well. Having a two month break doesn’t mean anything, other than we had an opportunity to strengthen (we did in attack), and that Dyche got an opportunity to work with the players more. Still results are as poor as last year. We really need to see the impact now of having an attack, given that was the common reason (but not the only one) given for our results last year.

Why didn't we target Postecoglou?

At least we'd be scoring regular goals.
He’s only scoring regular goals becuse he has better playing squad than ours.yes Yes, he may have a team that scores more than Dyche (I dont think that’s a particular high bar) but we wouldn’t be as free scoring as he is with Spurs.

Some of these players are poor though. Most aren’t Dyche’s signings. Maybe let’s give a manager time with some of his new players to actually solve some problems and turn things around rather than always looking to fire a manager as soon as results aren’t where we want them to be.

I actually think he did a brilliant job last season with the players we had and where we were. How quickly that has been forgotten.

The Confidence in Dyche is high.

I wish I could agree but wow this guy is just so poor; pretty sure if we keep him until the end of the season we go down.

Opinions vs. Opinions
Not sure how you think I’ve got high confidence in Dyche by saying I think we will be OK.

I meant Ok as in staying up, just, by the skin of our teeth again, I certainly don’t think he’s a good manager who will progress us, I also don’t actually think he will be here by the end of the season.

I’m not advocating getting rid of him now, but the situation has to be managed, only four games in and second bottom of the league and we know (like his predecessors he averages about point a game). If he does that for the remaining fixtures this season, he ends up on 35 points, one less than last year. Im not denying the playing squad is poor, it is…..just should we expect a little more from him given he has now had them since January? The next run after the international break will be critical for him I feel.

That feels a little complacent to me, one of the teams we were competing with appear to have improved in Forest, so early stages yes, but I don’t think they will be in the mix. Not sure about Wolves, they beat us at home but they put in a fantastic performance against Man Utd away even though they come away with nothing so not really sure on them. Luton, Sheff Utd and Burnley, yes I expect them to be down there with us. (Al though SU on sake points having played City at home). I think people are just rightly concerned at 1 point gained out of 12, having played two games at home and 3 of the 4 have been against Fulham, Wolves and SU, doesn‘t bode well.
Not at all complacent from me. I've said I think we will be right in the mix until the very end of the season. But I'm not going to say we are doomed either, because like we saw last season, you can still survive right at the end of May

It's a toss up for me whether we survive. That's not complacency at all, that's an indictment on our summer recruitment and how we have been ran.

I don't want us to be sacking another manager before the end of the season. A new one every 12 months is ridiculous.

However, sometimes they give you no choice, especially when the club aren't capable of picking a good one.

I think we will finish mid-table. Although I wouldn't stake my house on it

What is mid table though? 17th again and 36 or 38 points is not mid table.

That's something like 12th on about 45 + points. Palace, Brentford or probably Forest.

Let's say the next two games don't go well and it's one point from first six games.

To get into 40s going to have to win about 14 games so already that's better than a one in three win ratio. Also means home form similar to what it was under Ancelotti.

With this squad I just don't see it, probably the weakest set of defenders since the 90s for a start.

It's a tricky one. I certainly don't see the need to sack him now. However he can't survive taking 1 point from his next four league games, he has to do significantly better.

Imagine the reaction if Luton rock up to Goodison and win? Will be exactly like the Southampton game (incredible that Lampard actually survived for a further week after that result).

So would be same problem as last season, manager you sacked already used up lots of winnable home games and next one has to get team overperforming and get shock wins home and away.

If you keep on banking on final days to survive eventually will be one afternoon where the luck will run out. Already to me this is season where run of ball/luck is going against team as in other seasons Fulham and Wolves would've been 1-0 scrappy wins.

Final day fixtures:

Arsenal-Everton

Luton-Fulham

Burnley-Forest

In interests of everyone to be safe before final day I think this time.
