Also Watford haven’t won’t a home game in 10 matches

How is Roy still in the job? Surely if they lose to Burnley at home his card is marked and they may as well put a caretaker in charge till end of season

Roy will be trying his hardest to win that game for sure
Watford hasn't won a home game in 10 matches? *Checks notes* I have a bad feeling about May 11th if that is the case.

If that was the plan then surely it would be built now, he would just have written a cheque and wham bam!

How do we pay for it IF we get relegated, we would be up the creek without a form of propulsion. I can’t understand those that think relegation would be ok as it would reset, it would destroy. If we must have a clear out and reset we should do it from the premiership where the money is available for it.
Exactly. The new stadium is largely dependent on us remaining a top-flight club.

If relegation happens we will be stuck at Goodison until it can no longer get its safety certificate.

Absolutely no guarantee we bounce back up.

Add to that we have very little relegation wage clauses in players' contracts, meaning in order to comply with Championship wage cap/FFP we'd need to sell majority of players for pittance. We'd be fleeced for players like DCL, Pickford and Richarlison out of a sheer necessity to get their wages off the books

Under no circumstance should anyone be even contemplating accepting relegation as something that might not be a bad thing - it would be a disaster.
I don’t think anyone is seriously suggesting that relegation would be anything other than a catastrophe for Everton Football Club. Apart from WUMs etc.

Every discerning person knows it would destroy our club, potentially leaving it in a Bury-esque situation,

Can't really understand the hate for us tho... why does everyone seemingly want us relegated... is it because we'd be the biggest club to ever go down from the Premier league ?
For every club that hates the prem … we were instrumental in setting it up, that really began to make the playing field not level and we have been mostly rubbish in that era = serves us right
For richer rivals above us= seen us off for another generation or more
For the RS who have massive presence in the media= obviously no explanation necessary
For those currently knocking on the door of top 6/8 = a potential rival seen off
For smaller yo-yo clubs who have seen their chance of being like Ipswich or Forest or Derby in the 70s and 80s = we were Billy big b…..s so it serves us right if the same fate befalls us as has befallen them
For every team who has suffered relegation while we haven’t = have some of that lads and see how you like it.
It’s footy rivalry mate, We have not put together a team for years that others might admire despite the rivalry. We have mostly used up our credit with other teams’ fans!!!

Hi, I'm from Melbourne. I've been lurking on the site for years. In the absence of having billions to buy the team off Moshiri, the only thing I can do to support the team is to open an account on here. I've been staying up late and getting up at 4:45 am to watch the games.

Fwiw, credit to the fans who were at the Newcastle game. I woke up to watch it like I said I do and the oomph from the fans in the stadium could be felt through the screen even though I was half asleep.

But I'm just one guy in Melbourne. Idk anyone else who goes for Everton. Idk how you guys from Liverpool can live through this, it's a lot worse than my AFL team, Carlton, getting wooden spoons (Which they've done a lot of in the last 20 years).
You're a Carlton fan are you, so am i! Yeah the last 20 years have been tough, but hopefully better times are around the corner for both Carlton and Everton , if Everton can hopefully stay up. At least in the AFL you can't get relegated.lol

they could easily. Tottenham is the only tough game they have left. Watford and Villa the other away games. I could see them getting something from every game. Maybe unlikely, but 7 more points isnt a stretch
I'm hoping they go back to drawing games rather than winning if they do get something from them games. 1 win, 3 draws only gets them 6 points.

yes...and we compete 'in heart and soul' on Merseyside with 'them'...the RS. The moneymen do not want duality outside London and Manchester (and even the latter was only grudgingly given license by the genuflectingly compensatory money of Dubai).
The moneymen want Liverpool (the city) to be like a Newcastle...a one city team....and they will achieve their ambition.

But bigger picture?: the social/societal horse has bolted. It does not matter anymore. The conflagrations ahead will lend football the refractory perspective it deserves to lens...

...insignificance'.

In the big picture, the panoply unfolding in front of your eyes right now,, (well those of you with any perspicacity), will blast football from your pre 'post- capitalism' consciousness/awareness.

We now indeed live in interesting times ...(euphemistically speaking)

Having said all that, I hope we beat Chelsea lol

It’s newsworthy.

Also we’ve spent fortunes with a sugar daddy, so it’s sort of justice.,

There's no reason we can't go and win all of our remaining games. We just need someone who can actually put the ball in the back of the net. I'd play Rondon, he's experienced enough that if gets chances he will take them.
Thing is a player like Rondon will hold the ball up and occupy defenders, making much more space for the likes of Richy and gordon to have chances. Playing Richy up top is imo a waste of his ability, Rondon is an out and out Striker we should be using him, also he’s a worker.

Jealousy lots of teams and fans hated it when we were spending money, also a lot of teams will see us as a threat next season as we could buy a few players and be ok I reckon. The likes of Burnley are very unlikely to be in the top half next season. The next hated team will be Newcastle, lots will want them to get it wrong.
