“theory” were also poor and form we are the worst in this league. we need points mate simple as that get in that bottom 3 we won’t come back
We will see. Not saying it will be easy and there will be tough times ahead but I think we can stay up.

We should stop worrying about relegation during the winter break.
Our players will be recuperating in places like Dubai as we struggle in the cold and forthcoming recession
They will return rejuvenated and proudly take us into the promised land...of the Championship
See Pickfords flew off there this morning with Maguire, Mings, Rashford and McGinn, we hate rivals but they love em ?

Really don't know why anyone is pinning their hopes on ferguson, especially with all this talk of him injecting some passion into the players.

He's been here for years, has he not thought of doing that before?

We need more than that. A proper manager we can all unite behind.

You wanted the destabilisation of a managerial change halfway through the season; you wanted the galloot in the dugout.

Well done.
Ah come on Dave, yesterday was the first game since Benitez has been gone. He's the one to blame for us being in this position, him and the lunatic that appointed him. The people who wanted him gone, and I'm quite happy to acknowledge that I was one of them, were correct. Make no mistake, if we do go down, the blame lays firmly on the doorsteps of Moshiri and Benitez.

Had he been sacked after the Watford game instead of letting us watch in slow motion while he got things so terribly wrong, we would have a new manager by now and I doubt if we would have been worrying about relegation. Who knows, he may have seen the seriousness of our situation and used the bit of money we had on bringing in a decent centre mid and centre back on loan.

You say that if we go down it will all be on benitez but surely now he's out we'll see a massive improvement if he was the sole problem?

No judgement can be made on Benitez's time here because of the extreme injury situation faced.

You obviously didn't read my post, I didn't say he was the only problem, but, he was one of the two biggest problems we had, the other one being Moshiri. Moshiri failed to act, when it was patently obvious that Benitez was taking us in only one direction. Had he been sacked after the Watford game, as he most certainly should have been, we would now have a new manager, who would have had a transfer window and we would not, in my opinion, be in this position.

The team has got absolutely no confidence left and they have developed a losing mentality. So as you can see, I didn't suggest that Benitez was the only problem, just one of the two enormous problems we had, who have contrived to put us in an extremely precarious position.

As a footnote, Benitez' tenure has been destructive and divisive and pretty much disasterous.

No Dave, injuries can not excuse his tenure and it's abject failure, he was destructive, divisive and tactically inept. A good manager, certainly one on the kind of money Benitez earned, should be able to adjust and manage tactics and formations to compensate for injuries. I think we had a discussion before about the wisdom of allowing Benitez loose with a wrecking ball when he would have niether the time nor the ability to rebuild.

I agree with that.

And I definitely agree benitez's tenure has been divisive and disastrous but I don't blame benitez for that.

It was an inevitability because of the way we react to the RS and moshiri should have heeded the advice. If he was at any other club (either Liverpool, or Everton) I'm sure things would have been different.

The tribal irrational nature of football support I suppose!
