We have to play Burnley away and we play Arsenal away on the final day while they are at home to Newcastle. We therefore need obtain at least a 3 p lead, perhaps a 4 p lead considering goal difference, ahead of the last day to be sure of staying up. Considering we play them away and will in all probability lose to them I just can’t see how that is possible.

The main positives i see from our current situation...

We have a lot of games in hand on poor teams, 3 on Brentford, 2 on Leeds, 2 on Watford and Norwich and 1 on Burnley. We also have lots of winnable games at home and 2 away.

IF we can win our next 2 home games we can potential go up to 14th! Giving us some breathing space and still some games on other teams.

The next 2 games are absolutely massive for us and we need to win both.

I think we need to take one game at a time, looking at Liverpool ahead and UTD etc is pointless as so much can happen in between.

Sunday now is the biggest game of our season, after that Newcastle at home will be, then the next game.

If we set up like a team that's fighting for its life - solidly and deep and biding their time to strike themselves - we'll be fine.

If we set up the way Lampard set us up against the likes of Southampton and Spurs we'll be relegated.

No matter what our fixtures are vis-a-vis other relegation candidate's fixtures, it's as simple as that for me.

Attack attack attack at home
Park the 'kin bus away

Attack when we have a foothold in the game and not before.

This lot going a goal down is like a starting pistol for them to collapse.

If we have to concede we cant be doing it before HT in games. If we could achieve that we'd be in business. Ild actually fancy us in a game if we could achieve that.

Burnley will be safe by then anyway in my opinion. Brentford and Leeds are still involved don’t forget.

I firmly believe we will be ok and with a couple of games to spare, the reason, weve won 2 games of football in the PL in 6 months and we are still not in the relegation zone (just) that gives me hope because the teams below are us a utter gash plus we have games in hand on them.

The fight for survival is in our hands and only when its out of our hands will i really start to worry.

If we get nothing from this Sunday's game I think it might see a collapse.

I hear a lot of people use this logic and I just can't get on board with it. So because teams below us have been awful all season, they won't fight now?

It's exactly what they do every year. Almost every year we see teams near the bottom wake up and suddenly start fighting. It's why a lot of teams don't like to play them at this point.
