If we did similar between now and the end of the season that'd take us to 29 points. Last season that would have seen us finish 17th and safety. Think it'll take a few more this season though.
Burnley wont finish on 29 points. No way. 7 points from the last 15 and beating a decent team away and holding another one. They'll be looking to finish on 32-35 points.

The main positives i see from our current situation...

We have a lot of games in hand on poor teams, 3 on Brentford, 2 on Leeds, 2 on Watford and Norwich and 1 on Burnley. We also have lots of winnable games at home and 2 away.

IF we can win our next 2 home games we can potential go up to 14th! Giving us some breathing space and still some games on other teams.

The next 2 games are absolutely massive for us and we need to win both.

I think we need to take one game at a time,
looking at Liverpool ahead and UTD etc is pointless as so much can happen in between.

Sunday now is the biggest game of our season, after that Newcastle at home will be, then the next game.

It's going to be so competitive amongst the more than usual candidates for the bottom three. That mini league will see plenty of "six pointers" as clubs take points off one another. I agree that a minimum of 35 points will be needed to stand a chance.

35 will be enough IMO. I cant see Burnley reaching that even if they target it. Brentford v Burnley is the one I'm looking at this weekend besides Everton v Wolves.

If we beat Wolves and Burnley get beat the chances will be pretty high we can survive.

I had high hopes Leeds would continue to drop, but Bamford and Phillips look set to return.

Bamford is dead poo though.

This shows the difference between our home form and the away form. The players should be very conscious about the situation, every point counts now we still have games against middle table teams that must be won.

I'm not bothered either way tbh, I think going down might open a few eyes at the club and in the fan base and we need to have some sort of a reset imo. I watch a lot of Championship football, it's a great league with some cracking young talent who go under the radar a lot of the time. It's very competitive and the games come thick and fast, I would encourage anyone to watch it (if you don't) its better viewing than the PL a lot of the time.
I like watching lower league football as well, but relegation will be a total and utter disaster imo. There's no two ways about it for me.

We are a fallen giant of the game, but our record as the club with most seasons in the top flight, still gives us some sort of stature in the modern game.

People say relegation is good for a rebuild and a reset, but that's a nonsense argument imo. It's way better to rebuild and reset the whole thing, while still being a premier league club imo.

The championship is a very competitive league, we could easily be stranded there for a good few years. Relegation has no positives to it at all!

We went down and it ended up being the best thing that could happen to us. We were forced into a rebuild, new owners, and look at us now. Getting the British transfer record for one of our home grown talents and managing to blag Phillippe effing Coutinho within 3 years of losing to the likes of Peterborough at home. Don't think it will mean the end, it could mean something hugely positive down the line. We had a decade of absolute dross before getting the new owners in and now everyone loves the place and being a Villa fan again. Having said that, I still don't think you're going down :)

I do have some worries that we would get stuck down there but it all depends on who the manager/playing staff is tbh. We need a completely different approach to things at the moment as a club, hopefully Frank is the guy to do that but I fear the damage may have already been done. Also I'm really not sure how much we are seen as giant of the game anymore, we have done nothing for years and not been especially well run off the field either during that time, I see us as just another mid table meh club these days, its a shame as we should be a lot more.

You guys recovered pretty quickly, but Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest haven't been in the top flight for over 20 years now. I think Everton will hopefully, scrape enough points from the home games to stay up.
