The problem is, even the games we won at the start of the season weren't convincing. We beat Burnley at home but for 80% of the game we were God awful. There was a mad 6 minutes where we scored 3 goals out of nowhere.

Goals at the start of the season came from brief moments of brilliance from the likes of Gray and Townsend. Granted there could be random moments of brilliance in the next few games, but we're now totally on the back foot and confidence has been sucked out of the team. Unfortunately I just can't see us turning it around.
This was pretty much like last season as well to be honest. We have been riding our luck for too long now.....

Anyone else feel physically sick about tonight?

Not me, if I'm honest. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Unlike us, Newcastle appears to have got their act together and I fully expect them to win tonight. I'll be surprised, and delighted, if we get anything at all out of the game.

We're nowhere near being down. We're favourites to avoid relegation out of the bottom 5.

We'll show tonight why the bookies dont have us as relegation certainties.

Dave, this new found positivity of yours is amazing. Is it because most posters think we may go down, and you are taking the contrary view? Or, do you really see signs from the team that we can avoid relegation? If it is the latter, you are more optimistic man than me. I hope with all my heart that you are right, but, I can't see this season finishing with anything but relegation for us. We are absolutely on the floor and the players look to have given up. Here's hoping that I'm wrong and you're right.

You will see things VERY differently at 9.30 tonight.

We have lost 15 of our last 19 games.

We have been beaten by 2 of the three teams below us.

At some point this sort of optimism has to be replaced by realism. Hope rather than belief. Otherwise if the worst case scenario happens , people will take it a lot harder.

Win tonight or we have to get our points from teams a lot higher in the league than us.
Just the same sort of terrible results thiose around us have been getting.

The difference is that we have more games than any of them to get results from.

When we win tonoght I'll be vaulting posts like these.

Win tonight and we go in the international break in a differnt Mood, still not out of it but a step in the right direction. Then full of confidence for the FA cup at the weekend.

Losing doesn’t bare thinking about, we go to West Ham absolutely desperate for a win with 2 weeks break to worry about it ?‍♂️. Tonight is massive.
