I am 41 years old. I stopped properly caring about Everton results about 10 years ago. By 'properly caring' I mean getting upset to the point where id be depressed or be in a bad mood if we lost. This Burnley game is the first game in over a decade where I actually am getting the same nervousness and feelings I used to get when I was a 'top bloo' or whatever. It's a nice change to actually be arsed again.. even if its come about due to unfortunate circumstances. Years of having nothing to care about due to mid table nothingness only increased my apathy towards the club. Im not saying id rather be battling relegation every season than plodding along in mid table, just pointing out that one positive is I've remember what its like to actually care a bit.

I can't even remember a time I checked the Everton score during the game passed February, until this season

Jesus Christ are you for real?
I feel totally depressed over this. You must be a young individual as I’m not and don’t think my heart can take any more.
Every game my nerves are on edge. Don’t look forward to watching games any more
I reckon you will learn and end up being the same
Oh for a boring end to the season please.

Just don't watch it then? I don't get this whole thing of not looking forward to watching it, just simply don't. It won't make any difference to the result and you might feel better

Ha ha. It gets better doesn't it.
If we do manage to stay up given what we've had to deal with, that would rank alongside our greatest achievements.
Just seen that Delph looks like he'll get the nod tomorrow. I'll give him 15 minutes before he leaves, sorry limps from, the field of play.
He should have had an honourable mention in my initial list of woe.

I've been here twice before. It was a dreadful feeling on the last day not knowing if we were going down and praying for other results to go our way.
I hoped to never experience that again.
Every match we fail to get anything drags us closer to the abyss.
Just get some points. Anyway. Get them horrible. Snarl, scratch, scream anything to get something. Just fight and fight now!
Dont take us into a final day lotto. Its not exciting. Its soul destroying

yep

Everton that. We have 5 managers most proven winners over time and everyone wants them out at the first sign of adversity. Then because of default the fan base settle for an unproven manager who has had the worst start In the clubs history and has the team playing worse than the previous manager.

no it’s not everton that. a default fan base lol what are you then? lampard was the best candidate we could get at the time.

so shut up lad.

FFS. I only just realised that we play again on Saturday - and an early KO too.

Imagine that 'kin lot being told they have to play 3 games in 6 days at this stage of the season.

Just have to get on with it. Leave the complaining to Klopp, we don't need to sink to their level.

United had to play at Goodison half 12 last season on Saturday after Wednesday night game. Ole complained of course but its swings and roundabouts.

Liverpool and United have huge squads to cope with it. There is no comparison to be made whatsoever.

Thursday night to Sunday lunchtime before the cup game I found more annoying Palace would have been made up with that.

If it was fair we'd have been the late kick off but the BBC insisted on the Forest v RS to get the maximum viewing figures. Tax payer funded organisation and they chase ratings over fairness. You expect it from Sky and BT.

When Wimbledon went 2 up I brought the dog for a walk. No mobile phone back then. I was astonished when I got home to find we had somehow survived.

98 I watched every minute but my nerves were shattered.

Now we are possibly facing the same trauma again. Like hangovers, following Everton gets much harder as I age.

Its a living nightmare. Obviously in comparison to crap thats going on in the world but yep. Depressing performances. Results.
Breaks my heart seeing Everton so bad and living with relegation.
I think part of the reason it has been so difficult is Everton should be in escape from all the crap that has been going on in normal life but that escape has now become depressing. I remember those first few weeks of last season where we won a few games and were top of the league it really did lift my mood and helped me in lockdown. I would love to just go into hibernation for the next few weeks

IT would be massively classic Everton to win tomorrow by some fluke and then get thumped at home by United thus undoing the home hoodoo that we think will keep us up.
