Saved the club from oblivion

The greatest Everton manager of all time

Should build a statue of him and put it in the center circle

did a very good job league wise but ultimately bottled anything major and would never have taken us to the next step.

left with a foul taste in the mouth thinking he was bigger and better than us, but we've taken the piss with his statements.

Depends what happens from here if he gets blown out at Utd and Roberto's way continues to succeed the dark and light of the 2 will make Moyes a footnote. Length of tenure means nothing and fans don't wanna be arguing eternally they'll just forget him and he'll drift into Mike Walker territory ie he was here but he wasn't.

On the other hand if he turns it round at Utd the arguments will continue about what he could of done given money and he'll forever be a figure of controversy.

From my point of view he become too pleased with himself here, stability is all well and good but imo ambition went out the window as a result. We went from being a big unstable club in a right mess under Walter and Johnson to a small stable club under Moyes and Kenwright.

I didn't agree with Gordon Lee's philosophy selling Duncan Mckenzie was a historic line in the sand for the club skill was to be dropped for sweat but he never lost ambition. He said after his first game when just under 40k roared us to a 2-1 victory it suddenly struck him "Wow!! this is Everton FC" somewhere down the line Moyes lost that.
