'Forum Supporters' can now rep -10/+10.

It's an effort to improve self moderation as we head into the new season. Any posts receiving more than '-11' rep, is automatically pulled from public view, pending moderator approval.

Shortly, any member with a specified 'Negative Rep' will again have all future posts placed in a Moderator queue (as all new members do)

Thanks Buddy, still not sure of the purpose of it though????
I'm sure it's a fun game, but does it actually do anything?

It's to demoralise and abuse @ijjysmith

I try to start and end my day by negging him, gives me a spring in my step in the morning and sends me off to sleep with a sense of well being at night. I suggest you give it a go.

I've forgotten, what is the purpose of the rep system anyway? I've never used it because I'm not sure what it is for.

It's so instead of saying 'yes I agree with this' or 'no I think you're wrong' you can communicate those opinions directly to the poster, letting them vaguely know how much people agree with them without clogging up the thread with short contentless 'I agree' posts.

This makes it easier for people reading the threads to find the Katy Perry gifs and crude mother insults that they expect and want in an everton forum.

From the mods point of view, knowing which posts people dislike is a useful tool in being alerted to trolling, insults, kopites, osman fans, bungles and other such distasteful elements.

"Any posts receiving more than '-11' rep, is automatically pulled from public view, pending moderator approval.

So if you neg rep a lot of completely innocent posts you distract Danny with checking up on them and can run riot talking about politics in another thread without him noticing, as he's too busy.

OK, so it is sort of moderating by the masses. So if I start negging everyone, do I get paid a "moderators fee"? I heard they are on a huge wedge.

You need 11 people to neg a post before it gets flagged, so you should get 1/11th of what the mods get.

Mind, I'm pretty sure they get paid in the blood of the innocents.
I don't neg anymore. I just swing this now...
