My guess would be that either he's ran his contract down to the point where Everton are now open to a release clause, or Raiola hasn't been able to sort him a move for the summer, and so he may as well earn as much as possible for however long he's stuck here.

HERE IS THE NEWS so HOLD ON TIGHT....Lukaku signing a new deal..........did he negotiate over the TELEPHONE LINE?
To celebrate the news I might have a NIGHT IN THE CITY but hope I won't be STANDIN' IN THE RAIN.

That's enough for now IT'S OVER.

Right now, it seems all Mr. Blue Sky. Don't Let Me Down and let him get the Last Train to London or we'll all simply Turn to Stone. Of course, Evertonians are used to the Endless Lies spun by the board and wouldn't be shocked to see Lukaku leave, although it would still be Easy Money for the Club. I could go on, but I feel I'm Getting to the Point.

haha you've nailed it

Great news. He clearly likes it here.

If he finishes strongly this season, gives us a 5th year and we go far in Europe and the domestic cups it's possible (would require 30-odd goals) he could get to 100 goals for the club. In 5 years, before the age of 25. That'd give him legend status in my book, regardless of silverware.

If he were to leave this summer, he's given us 4 superb years' service, become our record goalscorer in the league and Europe, shown absolute dedication and professionalism and has said he'd like to leave out the front door rather than the back, so if the offer's right and he wants to go, I hope we let him.

either that or Raiola has managed to convince everton to pay him a huge sum of money for getting rom to sign a new contact, bit like the pogba deal

At least this deal guarantees a top price for him. Nobody can argue if he leaves in 1 year. He's an amazing player and we aren't getting into the competition he could easily be a star performer in, namely the Champions League!
