Hi All,

With regret, I've disabled the reputation system.

Unfortunately, despite best efforts to minimise potential abuse (Negative Rep prompting a moderator alert) - we have had a handful of absolute idiots abusing the system. Those idiots will shortly find themselves permanently banned for being malicious, misrepresenting our community and wasting our time.

The reputation system will be revamped and back shortly.

My proposal would be a no comment green points allocation only to show your love there is not a single reason to surreptitiously be negative to a fellow evertonian, not a one.

If people don't agree with opinion that's what the main board is for - debate within the rules (actually it's the same even if you agree).

For those whom popularity is important they can have a massive green line under their name and for those who aren't arsed in the slightest stalking will cease.

This site will be 1000% better if people can't get round the rules of decency and respect.

anonymity absolutely encourages the snide and bad feeling and shouldn't be allowed.

In a nutshell

Getting rid of the negative rep and keeping the positive rep system would be the call

I'd just say get rid of the neg rep because nothing good ever comes of it. I mean what's the point of it anyway? If you disagree with what someone says, respond to it in the forum openly. I think it'd be a much better system if it's solely pos rep that is an extra little "I agree with you, well said" function.

These

Anyone who is against anonymous rep is a humourless son of an orphaned piglet.

Bollocks. As said above, it encourages animosity towards other posters, Can you see who sends it to you ?

I can't comment on your rep thing lid, sure it might have been frustrating. You can be a little abrasive with other posters though mate, so it will usually encourage that sort of thing.

It's possible to have a full on disagreement with someone on here without any animosity. It's why it's always worked well. Or something.

If there's something which has changed recently (last 6 months or so) it's that. Some people don't let go of the argument once it's over. Grudges can really mess this place up.

Never saw the need to provide a facility that was always open to abuse not all posters want to indulge in the chit chat beyond subjects Everton and that doesn't mean they should be attacked - unfortunately this happens.

I've commented on this before and for every anonymous snide remark I get as a result I get a signed "well said" comment from those equally as mystified by the whole business.

Suspecting this won't happen and in the event of some kind of "negative" system being re-introduced - anonymity absolutely encourages the snide and bad feeling and shouldn't be allowed.

An instantaneous report button as per the main board would be a necessity - I could never report my stalkers beyond sending PMs and emails and after a while you can't be arsed.

Great day for the site entirety not just the few.

I have never had any of these problems...

I can now, as an upgraded member but before that I couldn't see who it was.

Sniderman used to nail me on the regular. Unlike some, I laughed like [Poor language removed] because some of Snidey's reps are poetry in motion.

I believe the original rep system but with only a one point value would be ideal. I agree the points system was a bit dull. There shouldn't be something which can be used to say one lid is better than the other. It's also off putting for new posters.

I'd be lying if i didn't sometimes enjoy the fact that i could smash somebody's green rep into pieces, before the site crashed.
