We really could have held out and got a better deal and the lad himself could have got a better move than Spurs in my opinion.

Aye, he wanted to go, but more importantly we needed to sell, then. That combination meant we weren't in a great position to negotiate the best price.

Even more so when you're dealing with Spurs. It's all well and good saying we should have played chicken with him and his contract, but the risk was too great.

Richarlison leaving was the result of our financial ineptitude over the past few seasons more than his desire to leave - although, he did want to go.
