He wanted to leave us for two years so holding on to him any longer was never an option. Obviously I think he would have liked to have joined a better club than Spurs, but seems like he was pushed out the door by us to the first team who came in for him at a semi reasonable price. I would have loved to keep him with us because he's quality, but keeping players who don't want to be there isn't a good idea.
Don’t disagree with any of that, but my point was we may have been lucky to get shot when we did, regardless of the why.
If he had been here this season but injured almost as much as D..C..L.. has been, I suspect he’d have been getting slaughtered on here (prioritising Brazil etc) and the board blamed for not selling him when the opportunity arose.
One of my favourite players in quite some time but he’s barely played this season.

Yep, I hear ya. I think he's just been incredibly unfortunate this season. Bad move for him, Spurs, but it is what it is. You're right that he'd be getting pelters if he was here and out most of the season lol

Never seems to be a good thing long term that. We’ve a bit of history for that too iirc (albeit maybe all clubs do it, players are only assets to be wrung out until they sold in general). That said pretty such if the player wasn’t willing then it wouldn’t happen I guess.

Made 27 appearances for spurs this season. He has been available. But he isn’t dislodging son or Kane and they have like 3 forwards for one other forward position.

I do think Richy doesnt want to play against us tomorrow. Lets see if his injury has healed by the time of Spurs next game
I want to see him pop up in the GSE tomorrow in a bus drivers uniform, then I'll know everything is right with the world.
Always struck me as some one desperate to play in any game, second only to his desperation to score.
If he does play & score tomorrow I fully expect the pigeon etc and I wouldn’t begrudge him celebrating either.
