Richarlison at Spurs

Imagine being as lonely and nihilistically hate filled as Charlie Bitter must be to come out with something like this. Someone give him a hug please.

That rat (along with Pickford, and of course our fans) are essentially the only reasons we stayed up last year. I wish the lad well.
He only likes Coleman. Votes for him most matches as motm regardless of performance. And this take about Richie is just shameless. He dragged us to safety last year. Something a bit strange really.

My stalker you have issues. Voted for motm?! Only when deserved in defining rear guard defensive issues.

I'm not denying Richarlison was important to us last year. But he left. He's gone and clearly never have a #### about us. Which is fine. Its a business. What it does though is expose his unpleasant snidey side and his lack of team ethic for everyone to see without blue tinted specs.

To be clear selling him was wrong. Not replacing him was criminal. But that's in the past.

Should he have tattooed our badge on his forehead to keep the connection alive? lol

Or is the praise, liking thins on social media and interactions with our fans still not enough?

Why did he never give a #### about us? And what are you on about lack of team ethic and snidey side?

He didn’t grow up supporting us and gave us an extra year than most would have done considering the basket case the club is. It’s hardly snide. He wanted to achieve more than we are likely going to during his career.

I imagine our esteemed chairman also told him we were selling him and pressured the spurs deal.

from brazil international number 9 who won an olympic gold medal, everton relegation saviour and bus driver who forgot to pick up kopites on the way to Paris to a bench warmer, no league goals and injury prone player who is going to miss key games for brazil

sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side
I was just about to say the same. Too many players like Richy who want CL football but end up stuck on a bench most of the time. It is why the quality of the league isn't as good or competitive as it should be. Too many top teams with benches stronger than the other teams first team.

I do like Rich as a person but he definitely didn't kick on as I'd have hoped. I still think it was incredibly selfish of him doing 2 tournaments and then being injured during the season, more than likely due to not enough recuperation.

I'd have him back though, he loves the club and fans and I think his passion and commitment suit a club like ours. With Spurs front line, I always thought it was a strange decision for him to go there.

I can never understand why fans laud him for the final few games as if he saved us on his own.

Let us just get this right, he was dire for 2/3rds of the season, his lack of goals cost us, his injuries due to overplaying at 2 tournaments hurt us. Thanks for turning up at the end of the season though but we could have done with a few more goals throughout the season. he's gone from 15 goals to 10 to currently 0 at Spurs.

Just not the messiah he's been made out to be for me.

1 in 3 in the league last year (better than the previous year fwiw), always gave it his all, never hid from anything, willed us back into games at times, turned up when it mattered THE MOST. I think that's why.

The team was dire for 2/3rds of the season though, not Richarlison.

I'll have to disagree on this one, I thought asking to do 2 tournaments was very selfish and in my opinion cost us a fit and firing Richy for the whole season not just the last few games.

We suit him as we appreciate the hard yards he puts in but I will always think he was selfish last season and we were stupid to agree to it, so that he will "give us one more year"

He played roughly the same amount of games though, that's what I mean.

Missed a few on the bounce mid-september to mid-october then missed about 3 until the end of the season, scoring most of his goals towards the end of it when it mattered, which is what's fresh in people's memories (and we barely scored at all - his 10 goals are a quarter of all of our goals).

He just fits with the fanbase's idea of what an Everton player should be, he embraced it fully while being here, still does judging by social media, and was always capable of the unexpected, which was great too.

Also he's not a right wing nut like most of his Brazilian teammates.

Also being there to apply the finish always, as well as that moment of magic:

For a £50m Brazillian superstar be massively flattered to deceive. That little late run apart his overall stats for us were shocking. Let alone the sulking and snidey behaviour.
