As well as holding his own position he was also the back up striker to Calvert lewin.
As is stands if Dom was to get injured things wouldn’t look too promising.
As others have mentioned we do have other options for the left , I’d argue a back up striker capable of challenging Calvert lewin would be of equal importance.
