He's a good player with a lot of potential but I'm not even sure he's worth half of the reported fee. One season at Watford has seen him go from an 11m player to 40m+ despite not having a particularly great season. It's the exact type of deal we criticise other clubs for.
That being said he's certainly an improvement on what we have, gives us an extra dimension (very strong in the air) and it's nice to see us flex our financial muscle again. Just not convinced there isn't much better value abroad...you know the reason we appointment a supposed top DOF.

Tosun and Gylfi are too much suited to a Alladyce style club imo. Would rather Lookman behind the forward and a pacey centre forward coming in with DCL out the door and Niasse/Tosun back ups.

The better sources are stating the fee could rise to 50m, assuming part of the fee is also compo to finish the Silva claim by Watford, then it is probably gonna be more like 40 we are paying and a fair but of that based in clauses.
If we get the same level of performance as he had under Silva, then it isn't gonna be money wasted.
Most would prefer Malcolm by the diunds if Twitter and in here of, a lad I'm guessing 95% have never even seen play or even heard of before last week.
