who is saying it's 35?

Most reports and articles reference it, then mention unknown extras, and arrive at £50m. Or £40m

So everyone uses the (unchallenged by Watford or Everton) figure of £35m, but no one has a clue on the (unreleased) extras.

Yeah, nothing credible with any lever of specificity has mentioned 50M.

We should announce this on the OS with a statement “Everton are pleased to announce we have prized cute little Watford’s best player away from them, bless their cotton socks”.

They’re currently winning the game of who can mug each other off the most and we just CAN’T let it happen!

why does everyone obsess these days about how much we are paying?
Is it something to do with one of the computer games whereby you are the manager and you are comparing real and computerised prices?
I don't get it, we either pay what the asking club wants or we don't, the price is entirely what they agree to or we walk.
Lets be honest, we don't have a clue how the business works at that level (cue someone saying neither do they), we are not privy to all of the little add ons and how much money is paid upfront, if we did know, we would be sat in front of agents negotiating contracts instead of tapping at a keyboard all day having moaning customers shouting at you (that's me)
it's not your money they are spending, them days are long gone, so why is it the main talking point regarding who plays for us? Surely it's all about the player being good or bad once they start playing?

I find it quite amusing how people are scrambling around to make it sound like 35m.

Im sorry to say but its 50m, people just think we can ignore 15m worth of add ons.

Just like we sold Lukaku for 90m, not 75m.

Im not sure its any fairer to say the add ons ALL count. I suppose the fairest would be to actually KNOW what they are(but that rarely happens). The reality is almost every deal has add ons that are a mix of those likely to be, and unlikely to be earned. The only way hes earning all of them is if we win the CL, which we wont. If its 35 mill with 15 in add ons, if we do well, probably 5 million trigger, so in reality its 40 million deal.

He's really really not. If you had gone after Doucoure, we would be peed off. If you getting tiny nips for as much money as we expected to get for both means we get to keep Doucoure, happy days!
