Its a big fee but it doesnt matter if that's who Silva wants. I'd rather we pay £50m and get exactly who he wants than two £25m gambles on players he doesn't really want.
He knows the player, its a much lesser risk than Bolasie who some are comparing this to.

Can say he was tired? Marco left? Was adjusting? But the reality is he was very bad for the last 6 months or so and didn’t turn it round. And adjusting to a league usually means you start badly ? Adjust and get to grips and improve , he done the opposite. I’m not saying he’s a bad player or doesn’t have potential but jelavic has a similar spell did he not? Richalison is better than bolasie , but that’s not hard and most players in the same position are , but at 50m , add ons or not , he’s a huge risk and for him to pay off financially, he’s going to have to become a 10-15 goals a season winger or else we are going to end up in another bolasie situation again and loaning not him out to Turkish clubs I’m a couple of years. This is exactly what happened to Leeds. Paying massive fees and wages to players than signed them flipped or couldn’t be arsed and had to pay half their wages after they left .

But he basically is a 30m purchase when you look into add ons and the fact they owe us for the del deal.

His form dropped off after 12 games but so did everyone else's at Watford. Not to mention Watford had 13 first team injuries at for a portion of the season. As the level of player drops so does the end product. Just look at the level of player he was working with grey, deeney and okaka. Deeney only scored once from open play and that was against us! They scored a combined 11 goals in the premier league. It doesn't matter how good a ball you put in if you're putting it in to someone who can't finish it.

For me I'm not bothered about his offensive stats. I'm more interested in the lads defensive stats. For a lad who was used as a wide striker, under Silva his defensive stats are quite impressive. That tells me that even when it's all going to pot he's still working hard.

As for doing a Leeds, come on man that's never going to happen. Leeds borrowed money they had no realistic way of paying off with huge interest. So when time came they had to have a fire sale. They bought good players for mad money on crazy wages with no regard of where or how to play them with a manager with no style of play...Last season was like Leeds! That's not going to happen this season. Brands biggest concern is trimming the wage bill and we have a manager with a style of play and were going to be bringing in 3-4 players tops. A lot more players will be leaving, this will take 3 years to sort out and that's if it goes well. The thing is though we have someone in place with top pedigree to sort it out and take us on.
 

The club is backing the new coach with the Richarlison transfer and I doubt the whole lot is going to be paid up front.

spot on we have to strengthen the squad hopefully more will leave towards the end of the window mirallas ect
 

I feel like when you say he drops off you have to mention he's only 21 and first season in the Premiership some players don't turn up at all Klassen/Ramierez from different leagues and he adapted really well, Also going from Brazil to England is a huge culture shock too.
