He's pretty ineffective up front. Much better as a winger IMO

It's horses for courses.

He was very effective against Leicester, because they were pushing up leaving space for him to spin in behind, so he could mix up his game a bit.

Against Palace, there was no space, so he could only drop deep.

Against United, I'd be looking to start the same team we did at Leicester, apart from Coleman for Kenny and probably Gomes for Davies (but Silva may want Davies' energy in there, tbf).

Bernard/Richarlison/Walcott all need space to push into. Bernard showed in flashes that he can operate against a packed defence yesterday, but he was just a bit off the mark.

This isn't FIFA. One team won't work every game.

So basically the same team as yesterday then yeah?

But against Leicester he wasn’t really that effective either, he scored I know, but he didn’t look dangerous apart from that. He has looked dangerous in every game I have seen him on the left, wolves, saints, arsenal , he looks like a player playing out of position the last two games. Not knocking him , but he was our best player by a mile when he played on the left on our first few games.

He was effective though.

He had Morgan tied up in knots with his pace and strength, and ultimately got the dope sent off which is what led to us winning the game.

His pace, skill and power means that defenders can't just push up at will.

He also dragged them wide, and a lot of time Morgan was out near the touchline (evidenced by the foul that led to the red and the one before that where he chopped him over the side), which then created space for players in the middle.

So to say he wasn't effective is ignoring a fair chunk of what worked well. He worked as part of a proper front four.

And this, along with squad rotation not meaning someone has been 'dropped', is something us as Evertonians need to get used to.
