2020/21 Richarlison

He’ll be off at the end of the season anyway if we don’t get CL. Everyone knows the deal. He’s never loved the club, he just handled his PR slightly better than Lukaku did. Why should these players love the club anyway? They come from all over the world to wherever is offering the best deal. The odd few like Cahill and Howard might give you everything and love the club forever but a large number are just biding time in their careers, they don’t love any club as most love themselves and their bank balances more than anything.

I’ve no problem with it, if he does ok this season we’ll be selling for close to 100 mill based on his age, being a Brazilian international and his utility across the front three. We then need to find the next one.
I think he will be here next season. I don’t see anyone paying the money we won’t next summer. He will still have 3.5 years left on his contract. So we can wait till we get the money we won’t.

Barca & Madrid who maybe interested, probably have him down the list of their first choices. Would he go to Paris? Maybe if Neymar is still there.

Prem teams who could be after him, Utd if they sell Martial. Can’t see any others.

Do you really think he is good enough on his form this season, or in any season at Everton, has he been consistently good? £100M? It would be great business if we got that, the quicker the better I’d say.

To be fair mate he missed three prem games through being a bellend, he hasn't been great but apart from the Leeds game he's been alright, needs to score more though. I reckon he's good enough to play for a top side. At the end of the day he's not worth anywhere near £100m.

Lou, I think he’s missed at least a couple of chances in every game he played in, except the one when he went off early. How many top clubs would want him, seriously.

£100 million for Richarlison? People are underestimating the impact of Covid on football finances. Diogo Jota is the same age as Richarlison and — based on what he’s showed so far for Liverpool — he is a more effective player. Jota has better off the ball movement, is more efficient in front of goal and is more versatile (in that he seems to play at a very high level not only from his favoured left-sided attacking position but also through the middle and from the right, whereas Richarlison can’t play as a central striker as his hold up play is rubbish). Jota is currently the most potent goal threat in a Liverpool team containing Salah and Mane and, whilst playing the same position, will almost certainly end up scoring twice as many goals as Richarlison this season. (From what I’ve seen they’re about equal on pressing and the defensive side).

Jota cost £41 million. Now you could say that that was a bargain, and that Jota’s value has almost doubled since his move. And you’d be right. So, assuming that Jota is now worth £75 - £80 million, what is Richarlison’s current transfer value? I would estimate that he is worth about £50 million at this moment. In a market in which probably only Mbappe and Haaland are guaranteed £100 million + players, there is absolutely no prospect of anyone paying £100 million for Richarlison. In fact, any club forking out £50 million for him would probably need to be long term admirers who are prepared to discount his recent form (as Liverpool did with Jota who was in and out of the Wolves first team for much of last season) in the expectation of being able to unlock his untapped potential —as Klopp has done with Jota.

I don't think there will be a queue of top clubs lining up to buy him or start a bidding war mate, but I can see someone having a go but nowhere near the £100m some seem to think he's worth on here.

We paid a fee rising to £50m for him so no we will not be selling him for £50m.

Too much Liverpool chatter in this post.

Where is the video?

But I'll agree with @bicycleheader that these things get mistranslated all the time. I'm not a fool is a stronger phrase than no soy bobo as in I'm not dumb.

When pele said he looked forward to playing with Maradona en el cielo he meant heaven but all the news translated sky. Why would they play un the sky lol

Theres a link to Globo Esporte in the article in The Echo that was posted.

To those of you that want more goals and assists from Richarlison - left wing does not suit him, from a stats generation perspective. Never has. However, the team gives up less by playing him on the left and DCL up top than the team gives up by playing Richarlison and DCL together up top.

Playing along with that limits Richarlison's options for his next destination and reduces the value of his next contract, to the benefit of EFC. It's no wonder that he doesn't love the club right now.

From him (stupidly) admitting that Brazil is easily his No1 focus, for you to then insinuate that he's unhappy at Everton is a bit of a jump.

Prince Ed the Manc from Africa has the situation sussed.

I didn't say he's unhappy. I said he doesn't love the club right now.

He loves playing for Brazil. We're a job. He's being a good soldier, but what we're asking is probably straining the relationship a bit. That doesn't mean he's unhappy, unsettled or looking for an out.
