Seems to me some people want to sack every player and simply replace them with KdB, Salah, Messi, Ronaldo etc.
43% with an agreed poor season in one of the 3 is a great return. People need a strong dose of realism

Richy doesn't disappear though. Even when he's not in form, he's still trying.

That's not what I said.

You said disappearing.

I said he was merely woefully out of form, from an end product standpoint.

I'd rather have a guy with talent, who keeps trying that is out of form, than someone with less talent who just happens to score some goals over a short period of time.

The law of averages says that someone like Richy will get his, and get them in bunches. Hell even last season he bagged a few big ones when we weren't creating anything at all

We scored 47 league goals last season, he was involved in 10 (7 goals, 3 assists). That’s not a bad return for a winger overall, in what was a poor season from him.

The bits that go unappreciated by some fans, is how many times he wins the ball back for us or how many times he relieves pressure on the team by winning a free kick up the pitch.

I’d be interested to know who you think should play instead? Or who we could buy once we sold him that could do a better job?

I’d be reluctant to sell him due to the fact we score so little goals, that we can’t really afford to get rid of the players that can put the ball in the net.

This really. We aren't in a position to sell any of our better attacking players really because of this. SOMEBODY has to score goals - if we sell Richy, then who?

Except he doesn't do nothing for 89min. That's revisionist.
He didn't track back(as much) when in a 2 up front but no one can argue he wasn't putting a shift in for the team prior to that. Carlo and he had a discussion about his excess defensive work.
So according to your logic, the obvious return stats don't matter and scoring a goal doesn't qualify as turning up. So even if he gets the winner in a tight game, its not enough for you? Lionel Messi does that btw with less defensive work. Would you want rid of him?

he doesn't often score twice but I agree it does happen. Still a good return regardless. Who would you replace him with?

I am not chucking mud at him, I am saying he needs to do a lot more.

How much do we get for him? 40-80 mil? we are talking Sancho/Havertz/Gnabry levels of money here. All of whom would be a huge upgrade
