2021/22 Richarlison

No wonder this feller came back from the Olympics talking about "I'll rest when I retire".

We can all see the cynical calculation going on there with a move highly likely. He knew he wasn't staying but didn't want to leave under a cloud. The fans fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Just another angle, I do wonder if the club sent him there knowing this may happen in the background.

Personally think we've been too keen to allow loans/depreciate value.

Mirallas, Walcott etc.

Even the likes of Niasse. Hull, desperate in January window. Fighting relegation. We loan them Niasse with an option to buy at £10m odd?

Just feels to me we've become a soft touch, it's like clubs know we're desperate.

Either way, let's see. If Richarlison is the one PSG want to appease Neymar/replace one of the worlds most expensive/gifted footballers - let's see what fee we'd look to demand.

In my view Brands hasn't sold well.I have also given him some leeway, as often he was selling other people's players, who had been poor buys. My own sympathy is wearing a bit thin with the negotiations with Kean, who in spite of certain challenges is a saleable asset, he has scored a lot of goals last season for such a young player. This is doubly so with Richarlison.

Richarlison and DCL were always going to be the acid tests for Brands. Can he secure Stones to- Lukakuesque money for those players and thus allow a rebuild over a 1-2 year period. And ultimately what does he do when he suddenly has a pot of money available to spend. If he messes such an opportunity up, there will not be an awful lot of sympathy for him.

Dont know why people take rumours in the press as gospel.

Everton won't sell Richarlison with less than one week of the window to go and PSG wouldn't need him right away either.

Be done next summer if ever.

This.

PSG lashed late bids in for Gana Gueye a few years back and we told them where to go - however, privately we had the chat with Gueye promising him his move in 6-12 months, Gueye performed, and then got his move.

Likelihood is we've told Richarlison the same, he isnt leaving with FOUR days to go in the Window - but we'll happily sell him for the right offer in January/Next Summer, thus giving us time to assess the market and scout replacements.

I don’t have an issue with him leaving. He’s a good player, but he stank the gaff out for long stretches last year. Has he got quality? Course he has. Is he irreplaceable? Absolutely not. Just look at what Leicester have been doing, and replicate that. My biggest concern is we won’t do that and will spunk the money on the next Bolasie and Sigurdsson instead. That’ll set us back again.
He's been great for us all told.

There's no doubting his talent. He is a class player.

But the stink of cynicism he and the club have emitted on his future is nauseating.

Ah right, didn’t take long for this thread to spiral into absolute nonsense after some internet links to him leaving.
He has just played his two best games in ages for us, if he was leaving, why would he be working his arse off and risk getting an injury after a big summer of football?
Absolute crap being talked in here as is tradition on GOT whenever there’s a hint of a player leaving.
Richarlison is a good lad, done loads not just on the pitch but off it too.

He's halfway out the door.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

I'm not surprised a club like PSG wants him, he's that good in my eyes.

But he's probably the last player I would like to be sold, so Ancelotti can k'off with trying to land Mbappe

You'd like to think that we've known about a possible approach for Richarlison for a little while and have had a plan in place for if our valuation is met. Might explain why we have had links to several wide players over the last few weeks.

But this is Everton so probably not.
