I personally think its a shame when opposition fans visit another teams forums and get crap from loads of posters? Its different if they come on being abusive, or pretending to be a blue (yes I mean all you red shoite 5th columnists) but when they come on just to engage, then banter aside, I don’t think they should be attacked. It is always nice to get their perspective on us as well as on players of theirs we may have been linked with.
Agreed. I migrated to Twitter to find other team’s fans to befriend after the Nazi mods on here banned them

Good points.

However in our defense, the final League placing is a bit of a " False equivalency " due to Manager change, performances and disruptions ( Losing our best player, management and coaching changes, injuries etc. ( Since he who I know better than to name on this site, lol , has been in charge, we are/were 9th in the form table, and have actually been unlucky with alot of results. We're a couple of players short of being a very good side, we've had some glaring holes for a few seasons which have not been addressed, until now. IMO ( Yes i know, it's not a great deal better and has nothing to do with the ACTUAL League placing )

I'll be honest about the reasons why players make " sideways " moves. Firstly, as you probably know, agents play a massive part, then silly money, the " The Project ". The likes of Kamara, Coutinho, Carlos all could have gone to CL clubs.

The other part is down to Richarlison himself, he might want to leave for a CL club, but will the interested CL club want to pay the fee and wages he would want? ( Will the " sideways club " ? )

Your board and Manager obviously too, play a part, what if after a poor season by your standards, they've simply decided they want to cash in on elements of your team for a rebuild, and will sell to whoever matches their evaluation?

For all you know, you could have better players than Richarlison lined up to sign yourself, for half the money.

The reasons why we will undoubtedly start to see Newcastle pluck players they " Have no right to be signing " from all over the place. It ain't because they are a CL club is it?

The difference is simple - clubs like Everton, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham, Leicester may be able to sign players from smaller clubs like Brighton, Saints, Palace in the league but we all have multi billionaire owners and dont need to sell to one another unless you were being absolutely rinsed.

If our top players to leave - they go for big fees and to CL clubs.

Why would Richarlison want to join Villa just to finish 8th-12th when he's finished 8th-12th at Everton?

Same way why would Declan Rice leave to join Wolves?

Or Bruno leaving Newcastle to join Everton?

The days of mid table clubs like Chelsea / Man City getting a big takeover and just plucking star players from teams like Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Villa on trebled wages are long gone.

You cant offer better wages than us, you aint playing CL football and you have FFP to adhere to.

Newcastle may get around it through cooked sponser deals linked to the Saudi Govt but for the rest of us we have to play by the rules which is signing £20-30 million players from overseas and the odd smaller club player from a Palace/Norwich type outfit.

This is the weirdest "debate" in the world. Villa aren't a small club, i quite like them honestly. But Richarlison absolutely isn't going to Villa. That's the long and the short of it.
Correct it will be a team in the CL or at least Europe if he goes. He could just stay here and be mid table/top ten at best like Villa.

A few of our own fans hate him with a passion as well, so you're not alone there mate. lol
i wouldnt be surprised if you do really well with Stevie Starfish as your manager, hes got loads of clout. he would often make decisions for the referee if he thought they had got something wrong or not to his liking. true story. #GoEvertonSoccer

may as well join the villa debate.
villa alongside everton are only in the prem to make the numbers up,
they like everton may a have good couple of cyclic years and might even make europe, just like west ham are doing now.
however they like everton will never win anything unless they fluke a cup like swansea, birmingham, leicester, wigan which happens a couple of times a decade.
but thats as good as it gets and villa will have to spend big just to achieve that.
if the rs come calling for stevie g he will walk out on villa, just like he walked out on rangers.
the FA are very protective of the big 6 and theres no way soon villa are joining that club,
and just to finish, theres not a hope in hell richarlison signs for villa.

In fairness, i reckon it's a bit sad that fans of clubs like ours ( Villa and Everton ) are resigned to just " making up the numbers " . We should all have an underlying belief ( Even if it might be unrealistic ) that we can do a Leicester City, otherwise what's the point of being a football fan?!

Villa fan in peace ( I think ? )

Only signed up, due to some of the absolute madness and vitriol I've seen linked on our forum, coming from Everton fans.

I thought that historically, we had a mutual respect for each other, based on the similar history and stature of the respective clubs. We were always pretty much neck and neck ( Until our decline before relegation ) and you lot were a relatively well run club which went on to do much better than us in recent years, obviously.

So i've always had a soft spot for Everton, why the hate?

What's wrong with the club trying to be ambitious? It's a simple yes or no ain't it? Everton and Richarlison can either laugh off and reject the interest, or accept it. ( That is if there is even any truth to this transfer rumour, as most Villa fans don't think it makes any sense ).

Wouldn't you agree that clubs only improve, by trying to sign players which are " Above their station " on paper ?

The owners are ambitious and trying to " give it a proper go "
I would regard Villa as a proper club , certainly not a club I would have a problem with. The sale of Grealish offers the club an opportunity to improve the team substantially without risking the financial standing of the club so why would they not do so.

I simply don't believe that Villa are in the race for a player like Richarlison, he will be way above your budget for a single player and will want to go to a club playing in the CL and with a chance of winning it.

I am probably biased but I am not at all convinced by your manager though.

Just wondering why is there so many Villa fans on here lately? Welcome villa fans btw.
We just had our collective noses put out of joint to some of the descriptions of our club on here which leaked back to the Villatalk transfer thread. Just took us by suprise as generally Everton get a lot of respect from Villa fans. Though reading through further, much like our forums there are always a few dicks but mainly seem a respectful bunch.

As I said earlier I don't see Richarlison signing but nevertheless I wouldn't be absolutely shocked. I don't see it as the total impossibility that you guys seem to. Athletico fans seem totally gobsmacked that Diego Carlos came to us over them. Most players we sign the selling club seem bemused about why their player is coming to us.

Added to which I don't think an upgrade on Watkins is what is really going to push us forwards. Unless he is going to Arsenal for silly money which then gives us silly money to tempt someone else. And as we all know, in football silly money talks.
