If it's only £50m, it's a terrible piece of business.

If it's £60m, it's not great but not terrible, although still on the low side given other deals.

I don't think we've got great value for the player at £50m +£10m figures being quoted. There are far worse players like Sancho and Pepe who went for far more. I want to know why we have sold for less than those players.

If it is through absolute necessity to improve finances, then let's see some resignations from the board due to the mismanagement. Let's hear from Farhad on how he managed to get us to the point where we have to sell our best player to Spurs.

Surely if he has requested to leave though, that would potentially negate the loyalty bonus? And he all but said publically he had told the board he wanted out.
Telling he wanted out and handing in a transfer request are not one and the same thing. It used to be that players received a % of the fee as a matter of course but that was waived if a transfer request was handed in I am far from sure that these % payments are paid as a matter of course

When a player signs a contract any signing on fee is paid over the contract period there are often additional bonuses but the signing on fee almost certainly would be paid in full as will various individual clauses that will have been negotiated when his latest contract was signed

If the takeover talk is genuine, the board won’t be the board within a couple of months. The issue is I have concerns about the potential new suitors and whether it’ll be too late anyway.

This mess is not something that’s happened over night; we’re here because of many, many years of mismanagement and recklessness.

yearh i agree with the years of mis management but we can’t carry on this way atall

I posted on here a while ago that the sort of numbers some were talking about for him were wide of the mark. If the numbers being reported are correct you have pulled Spurs pants down.
Wow I hear some say but he really isn’t at the top level. Yes he plays for Brazil and yes he is very much a focal point for Everton supporters but the fact that so few of the money clubs were in for him tells the tale.
I know that Spurs will be playing a lot of games next season but I am not sure that he will be close to a regular starter at Spurs and that will be a factor as will the fact that in terms of fans favourite he will be way down the pecking order that will all impact on his ego.
The sale will probably give you a boost in FFP terms but it will be interesting to see how you spend it because spend it you must
Yeah it's a lot of money for a squad player. He's nowhere near the level of Kane or Son, and Kulusevski is a better player technically too.

He's a good fit for a Conte team though. You'll like him for his effort, but not so much for his ability.

he prob is our best player...maybe, dunno (but that's not too difficult at the moment). but i guess three good players might be better than one very good and two crap

In times of trouble, a little bit of hyperbolic remarks are always helpful. We’re far from the worst run club ever although we’re definitely not ran well.

It's all relative.

What other club with the resources we have had in recent years, has had so much decline, and ended up in financial trouble?

Never get resignations from those we want to resign. The only way they're going is when the club is sold.

Club is a shambles, we obviously had the deadline today of the end of financial year, furious we have ended up like this, bad enough selling our best player to Spurs, but gift wrapping him and knocking of 25% on the deal.

How far have those who have run this club dragged us down.

Its a disgrace, the support shown in the last 10 games of the season, to save them all 100s millions dont deserve this.
