Will miss him and would rather DCL went tbh. Prob one of the few likeable players in the squad. He deserves more than we can currently offer him at the moment though, no thanks to the board. Would prefer it wasn't Spurs but they were obviously the highest bidders and unfortunately our financial issues mean we have to sell now rather than after the world cup when his value will probably soar, again no thanks to the board. Let's hope his sale isn't in vain and we can use the funds to rebuild and move forward positively.

I said it was a Photoshop on Wednesday, but it appears that The Guardian think it is real. If it's real, it was already appearing on Facebook last Wednesday.

Been our talisman for the last few seasons, so sad to see him go but understand why he’s gone.

As Red says in the Shawshank Redemption about his friend Andy Dufresne, “some birds are just too beautiful to cage”….

Not arsed which way his career goes now of course though, I’m only interested in Everton players.

Sorry didn't mean it to come across as a criticism.

I do think there needs to be some self reflection from the board and fanbase. People will look down on Spurs but they are the current level we should be trying to attain. Spurs are not an historically bigger club than Everton. At this point they are world's apart. That's been the case for the majority of the last 10 years.

Everton have spent a lot more money than Spurs in the transfer market but wasted most it. For all the criticism of Danial Levy he's delivered a CL squad, a CL level manager and CL level stadium though via iterations of the club (started with Jol/Redknapp through to Pochettino and now Conte). they had some bumps in the road but their strategy and implementation was strong and upheld. Everton have flip flop from1 strategy to another and in the process wasted a lot of resources. That's the fundamental reason why there are issue now.

Call me old-fashioned, but I think it is incredible that supposedly reputable news sources are not only using photoshopped images, but are actually labelling them as official. I mean, you'd think in a world of fake news that they might want to preserve some credibility.
