2021/22 Richarlison

I suppose now the Rafalafel-inspired Hammy Rodz hate-mob will move onto Richarlison.

Is he really injured? or is Ballsack Benny just looking to reduce the wage bill further?
Whatever the case, he won't sign an extension and will be moved on as quickly as possible, so Backwards Benny can bring in some more useless carthorses.

This is why we can't have nice things. :-(

Think both richarlison and DCL will go this summer mid table finishes are no good for young players who have ambitions of playing in Europe a sad state of affairs
we've lost 1 in 5 league games, don't you think your getting carried away or jumped the gun? if we don't win in our next 5 games then fair enough. Not sure you'd finish mid table losing 1 in 5.

The subsequently bottled top 4 twice, but still qualified for the Europa. I know every blue here would bite their hands off if offered regular European football.

That or spend hundreds and stagnate, I know what sounds good to me.
They sell a key player every year but since they have been in prem they have finished 14, 1, 12, 9, 9, 5, 5.

That's proper progression. Yes they had a crazy season to win the league, but otherwise they are run properly.

In recent years they have sold kante, drinkwater, mahrez, Chilwell, Maguire.

But they reinvest it in young players to develop who usually either sell for a profit as not good enough, or move into the first team.

We just get rid of our best players and overspend on players in or past their peak and give them long contracts on high wages.

Yes lost one league game and one cup game which we should have won that is the point and in both of them our play was poor.

Richarlison will leave next summer guaranteed, if not in January!

God helps us when he does.

It will be a huge loss to the team.

Ultimately, you can survive selling your best players... just look at Leicester.

But we're in a position where if DCL and Richarlison go, we've got nothing to replace it with, and I don't trust Brands to replace it with anything solid.

We've got to try and retain Richarlison, but just don't think long term it's sustainable. Next Summer is a really pivotal moment with Richarlison and Everton, as he will be entering his final two years, and that's the beginning of the drop in value we'll receive.

These past two games have done nothing, but show me how important he is to this club.

Great being a blue isn't it?

As were sailing so close to the wind with the FFP / Premier league profit and sustainability rules the option next summer could be:

1: Lock down our best players to extensions so theyre here for another 4-5 seasons, e.g Pickford, Mina, Doucoure, DCL, Richarlison and possibly Gray if his form continues -- while then only making a couple of young signings like Patterson.

2: Recycle the squad with sales and a raft of new players.

The critical thing for us (obviously!) will be getting maximum transfer value and investing it. It could go far if we work quickly in signing pre contract agreements in Jan.

If, as expected, Mbappe goes to Madrid, then PSG will go for Richarlison.

I wouldn't be surprised, if Ancelotti is at Madrid next year and Mbappe for some reason stays at PSG, that they move for Richarlison instead.

He'll be gone next summer, the club are banking on it.

I keep saying this - this isn't just an FFP issue. The money is no longer there for transfers without shifting players. That money is all going into the stadium. Moshiri has already put £100m down for the enabling works alone. The rest of the money for the first phase of development is going to be coming from LCC's private fund thing and Moshiri, until an investor(s) are found.

So, the squad has to fund itself. People bang on like it's just FFP holding is back. Nope, we simply do not have a lot of money at all. Maybe £10-20m in fees and that was reflected by our attempted business at the end of the window.

Big wages off the books next year will help, but we'll still need a big sale. That will almost certainly be Richy and it's fair enough. Just make sure we get £70-80m at least.

Theres no evidence to suggest that transfer budgets will be used on the stadium.

The only evidence points to FFP / Premier league rules.

It's nothing to do with the FA. It's the Premier League.

We don't have £100m to spend. You are dead right that we had to cut our cloth accordingly but if we had decided to stick two fingers up, it wouldn't have been us spending £100m. It'd have been £15-20m because that's all we had.

We showed that with the max on our offers for Patterson (fairly so, I don't think we should lob more than £8m for a 19-yr-old RB with 25 senior games), AMN (wouldn't go in to purchase) and Diaz (had to try and include James and offer to pay some of his wages to subsidise a fee).

It is what it is. I'm not moaning about it. It's just the way the club is going to have to be run.

It's also a major reason why Benitez was given the job. Whatever his faults (his managerial faults, not his history), he's a safe pair of hands.

The fees were were offering suggest that we were offering a low initial payment of £2-£5mil and the rest over a long term contract.

Looks to be clearly an FFP /Premier league rule issue.

100% they will, when they can try. I am not disputing that. But that would subsequently have to be balanced off by sales.

For example, let's say we go back in to Porto in January for Diaz. We haven't got any bargaining chip to use but we do have James' wages (whether they're 160/170k as the Al Rayyan fee would suggest, or 200k+ like has been inconsistently reported) free, we do have Kean's pay packet freed up, plus a small sell-on from Vlasic plus Kean's 4m Euro loan fee which is due in at the end of this season. So we genuinely might have £30m to play with and we have financial wiggle room in terms of the books. Diaz was keen to come, and personal terms were supposedly not an issue in August and had all but been agreed in principle.

So in that case, if the P&S room was there, the owner(s) might say, here's an extra cash injection. It depends what Porto would want. They wanted his buy-out in late August (68m) - would they want that again? If so. would the owner(s) put that cash up (£30m extra?) to get the deal done? But then that would absolutely have to be on the proviso that there is a sale next summer (unless we got into the CL pretty much).

But they've also given full control of recruitment to Benitez.

Where do you get the £160-170k for James' wages based on the fee?

Bearing in mind he's moved to a tax free country...

That’s the way to run your football team.

It shouldn’t be a disaster to sell DCL or Richarlison because we should have faith in the back room scouting to get it absolutely spot on.

Instead we’re all panicking because we’ve spent £500m and most of its been not productive at all.

It will be a huge loss to the team.

Depends doesn't it. Was a £6.5m deal apparently. That supposedly includes a nominal fee for Everton (few hundred k?)

So say £6m, over 9 months (36 weeks for ease) – £166k p/wk it works out at.

But he's signed a 3-year deal there, so I don't know.

On the other points, Zat. It isn't just FFP mate. If FFP wasn't an issue for us this summer, we still wouldn't have spent £150m because we just don't have it - unless we sell players. Our owner isn't going to keep throwing money at the squad until we clear the decks.

Aye this is the issue, but also, you have to do your business in advance of those players leaving. Like, a year in advance or six months.

That's what, by and large, Leicester have done.

They are a weird case though, because their league win gave them a step up. But since then, if you look how they've done it, they've got a player in a position where they know that the following season they'll likely sell a star player.

So, Soyuncu they got in 2018, ahead of selling Maguire a year later. Soyuncu had a year to settle into England, play a bit, train a lot, then go into the team.

They knew they had Barnes coming through when they sold Mahrez. That being said, they may not have expected his development to rise so sharply but it did.

They have bought Soumare this summer and he will be a rotation option until, in all likelihood, Ndidi goes next year.

That probably allows them to keep Tielemans, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go get a bit of a playmaker type in January or next summer to phase in for either a Maddison or Tielemans sale, just in case.

They've also had the fortune of having Vardy, who is a reliable goalscorer that eases a lot of the burden. They have move for Daka this season though so if that works he'll likely be the player in a few years who phases out Vardy/replaces him.

I think it's obvious that Richarlison is not injured, he's rightly being punished. He threw a strop and directed a few words at Benitez when he left the field in the last game he played. Then he ran off down the tunnel as soon as the final whistle went. The lad is an emotional child and we can do without him creating a toxic atmosphere at the club. The sooner we get rid, the better. Benitez knows best.

I feared that the Raff Zeppelin would turn on him now that Hammy Rodz is off the scene.. :(
