Richarlison

He has missed more games through injury since moving to Spurs than he has started. Buying him - and you know where Levy is involved it won't be cheap - because we hope his body will magically repair itself when he's happy is along the same, overly sentimental lines as signing Gibson/Cleverley/Schneiderlin/Walcott/Rooney/Delph because of the "winning mentality" they'll surely bring to the club, or signing Dele Alli because "there's a player in there somewhere".

And just because you choose to ignore the business side of the game, it doesn't alter the fact that every penny spent on Richarlison is unavailable to spend on other reinforcements who would, in all likelihood, be available more than he is to justify the outlay. It also doesn't alter the fact we'd almost certainly lose him for free at the end of his contract because his knackeredness/wages would make it impossible to flog him.

The love of the game comes from playing decent footy and winning. We have literally seen first-hand how signing knackered/crap expensive players with PL experience affects our ability to do those things, and the first thing you want to do under a new regime is the same stuff we've been doing?

There'll be other heroes mate.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying we should definitely sign him. His recent injury record is worrying, there is no doubt about that.

However, if a deal is done I will sit here looking forward to and hoping that he does the job on the pitch. I would try to be more like the fan that I was when I was a kid and be excited for the signing, rather than worrying if there is enough left in the budget to sign x player(s).

Oh, I am not stupid enough to know that there will be other players. 35 years of watching football has shown me that they come and go. As an adult, I will just get on with my life, if he doesn't sign, but there is something about Richarlison that feeds into a naïve child like emotional connection with the players.

It`s because you knew that every time he pulled on that blue shirt, he was going to give it everything he had and more.

He loved us and for some reason the club and we loved him.

It really is as simple as that.

This a 100 times over.

I have never been a football fan that cared too much about transfer fees or stats. Football is meant to be about passion. If you are into that kind of stuff then fair play, but now and again put down the calculator and think with your heart. Do you want to see a player playing in the same manner as you would, if given the chance. That is what Richarlison is to me, obviously his injuries are a worry but this is a different Everton team, a different manager, a whole different environment than what he had when he was here (especially at the end).

I feel that he would be a very good fit in a Moyes Everton side, with the likes of Ndiaye & Alcaraz there alongside him. If we are interested and it all works out, with the medical aspect, then I for one would be ecstatic that he would be playing for Everton again.
I like Richarlison as a person. As footballers go, he's one I can get behind. And that means more than it possibly should - but it is what it is in the world we live in. He's a good guy and somebody I can support. He's also a good footballer - albeit not half as good as his supporters imagine. Nevertheless, he's a player I would be happy to support if he could be brought here without much outlay.

The reality is he will cost a fortune - and that fortune needs to be spent better. Because, we can have all the passion in the world, but Richi won't play for us for free and Spurs won't give him back to us cheap. Spend the money on him and Spurs and there is an opportunity cost to that where we miss out on passionately cheering better players than Richi who can be bought with similar money by competent new owners and experts.

If we were still run by Moshiri and Bill, "bring a blue home" would make sense. But we're not. We're now run by competent people of means with much broader horizons.

Thanks for the memories, Richi.

He's missed 48 games in 4 seasons for Spurs.

Don't think we can afford to be buying strikers who are unavailable 1/3 of the season every season no matter how much we'd like him back.

He's been there 2 and a half seasons

Last season he scored 11 in 28.

People acting like he's perma-crocked or not good enough for us are hurting my brain...

That makes it even worse then mate if he's only been there 2 seasons

See above, that's the amount of games missed.

All he would need is a good pre season and someone looking after him. Dare I say it, like Dyche with DCL. We all love Richy, however it’s whether you take that gamble. We got half decent money for him. Levy won’t let him leave for cheap. But I do think he belongs here like any of our players that goto Spurs. I think they get there and realise Everton is a well bigger club.

 history of this round here.

Richarlison is contracted to spurs till 2027. A season loan next year has him at 12 months left and pre contract available in January. spurs have to tie him down to a contract this summer or get ready to sell, their leverage disappears pretty quick after. son is nearly done, they've no kane, and they don't like their manager. Impressive in its way. Baldy chops is supposed to be this brilliant business brain yet has overseen a catalogue of expensive failure that'd make saint bill blush.
