Is the very existence of crime not terrible by its own definition? Or are you claiming the Republic of Congo is crime free? You yourself have denounced without proof their leaders as despots without the need for proof though. Discuss it between yourselves Hibbert and Ernie.

IPCC said he died of self inflicted wounds - post mortem said it was a single stab wound to the heart.

And it wasn't just the fact that Menezes was executed. It was the subsequent cover-up and lack of any accountability on the part of the police. They lie. They are untrustworthy. If the Met told me the sky was blue I'd go outside to check.

Ok Blue1 I will repeat what I said to H&E, instead of citing examples of police misconduct, do you have firstly any proof that the allegation he was armed is untrue? and secondly do you have any proof this was an unlawful killing? The facts are not fully known at this time and any aspirations to the character and intention of a man we did not know is frankly ridiculous without solid evidence.

I haven't been speculating about Mark Duggan. I've not claimed he was unarmed. I agree, we don't know the outcome of all the enquiries yet.

All I've said is that I wouldn't trust the Met or IPCC as far as I could piss them.
 
Ok that's a reasoned rational arguement I have no problem with mate. There has been substantial evidence against the police that despite its protestations show it to be institutionally racist and having a "canteen culture." As a side note personally I believe the existence of the Black Police Association is also racist by definition but that is another issue.
 

I think all positions of power attract some knobheads, to be honest. Politicians, teachers, police officers.

I don't really think it's fair to pick out isolated incidents though and paint a picture like all police officers are untrustworthy.

As for Duggan, it's rational to wait for evidence before saying what was right and what was wrong. If he did have a gun though, and had it in his hand, then I don't blame the police for shooting. What's the alternative? Waiting for him to shoot?

So what if he was a father of four. It's tragic for children to lose a parent, but if the parent was waving a lethal weapon around I think it's their own irresponsibility that's left their children fatherless.

That said it's fairly hard to garner reliable evidence, considering the main source of information in this country is the media, which is less reliable than a chocolate teapot.
 
I dont know if that was a joke or you're serious mate but I agree with you about the MOBO's. Whenever I see something that by definition is exclusive to a particular race etc. im suspicious. Women fought to be in gentlemans clubs, blacks and jews on golf courses etc. etc. Now im aware that white artists perform at that event but in cases like that I always mentally replace the word black for white and wonder if it would be labelled racist.

The NBPA's membership is open to all police and it exists to combat racism in the police force, which is widely acknowledged to be pretty rife. It doesn't exlude membership on the grounds of race, so isn't racist. There is also a National LGBT Police Association and various other minority police associations, their purpose being to combat discrimination against minorities within the police. As the huge majority of police are white men there's no point in there being a National White Police Association, because they don't suffer from institutional discrimination.

White artists have won MOBOs. I think "music of black origin" is a bit of a daft term... music has always been evolving and taken influence from all over the place, I mean how far back do you want to go? But racist? Not really. The MOBO's don't discriminate on grounds of race. You could level the same accusation at the Country Music Awards - how many black artists do you see nominated for them?

But yeah, off topic. So I'll say no more.

What would happen if we had the MOWO's?

And the fact everyone got so excited coz Obama was black. What about the fact he was the best man for the job? Doesn't matter about skin colour. IMO a lot of black people play the race card far too often. Large ammounts of it is unnessessary. They are much cooler than I'll ever be, they don't need to be douchey about their skin colour.
