Riots in the UK...

You need to read up on your history.

So you can't explain how the peel principles lead to violence? Its because they don't isn't it?

The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.

Looks like the current lot aren't doing well eh.

The fact is the police are being inhibited in their actions to deal with crime and disorder and their efficiency is lowered as a result. Thats why you can see it.

And the Peelers when they first started were a drunken, violent rabble.

If you knew what you were talking about you'd know this.

Far cry from modern policing, who are hands tied in everything.

She's telling you what she thinks.

Ok, im gonna say this really slow, as you seem to be, well, you know.

The "citizen" pulled a gun on the Police and shot at them.

Dress it up however you want, but that "citizen" was utter scum and I thank the Police from removing him from this World.

We don't know that yet. There are reports of the bullet fired at the police man being a police bullet from a police gun. The whole issue has become obfuscated. I don't trust the police to give me the facts anyway. They are proven liars.

dont know mate, simple world back those days i imagine, less laws and fewer grey areas human rights ect, maybe?

Ah, the good old bad old days. Where Irish were 'micks' or 'paddies', Jews were hated, and Blacks and Asians beaten daily. Its political correctness gone mad. This countries finest hour was standing solo against the wrath and tyranny of xenophobic hatred.

$1700 per ounce...no wonder they're happy letting them have the consolation prize of widescreen tellies.

fck the rioters, but hey man fck the police too. i got over being stopped and threatened and goaded into fights with the police in my youth but after being discriminated against 25yrs later because of my accent (when your outside merseyside)and set up when not having committed a crime they are dead to me. all the police want -is to pinch you or get you to grass, they dont care about your colour (its a myth) they just want an arrest and will insult you to get you to react - then your battered and in the van.

YOur right mate. I completely back down I failed to see the final peel principle note listed below.

The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.
The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police actions.
Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observance of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.
The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.
Police seek and preserve public favour not by catering to public opinion but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law.
Police use physical force to the extent necessary to secure observance of the law or to restore order only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient.
Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.
Police should always direct their action strictly towards their functions and never appear to usurp the powers of the judiciary.
The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.
i agree with you with most of that.
Police must be drunken violent bullies.

Such a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Makes me seethe to see mindless criminals trying to justify their wrongdoings off the back of a tragedy.

It's an excuse to jump on a bandwagon of thuggery and destruction for nothing more than personal benefit. I'm glad I live miles from any of this and feel for anyone with the misfortune to be caught up in the trouble.

FFS

Have a good hard look at the riots that took place after the Rodney King incident. Then shout your 'ffs'.

All I know is the Police pulled a group of my mates walking home in fancy dress, put them in the back of the van, stripped them, beat the **** out of them, burnt their suits and left them to walk home injured in their underwear.

99% of the time the Police do their job but there's no denying that there's a chunk of them who live by their own rules, drunk on power.

I'm not excusing these idiots for one moment but I will say the police aren't angels themselves.
