It may be at the point where the fella can't win whatever he says. Nature of the football fan.

Perhaps some have lost subjectivity and view everything he does/says as wrong. Again human nature.

Can't say I'm mega impressed with him.

I don't think criticising him for what he's done here is a subjective thing, neither is it due to bias.

So give up and let you whine and moan about the manager not giving you a trophy straight away because you deserve one don't you? For all the work you've put in supporting one of the biggest clubs in Europe
Or maybe people just think he's a bit crap and we could do better.

It hasn't been about what he says for a long time imo. The real issue is how he acts.

To be honest mate, it probably comes down to fans wanting to hear a little bit of honesty from him. Not a case of jumping on every word, but just hearing him say, we have been poor, I need to change our approach to games. Just anything to essentially put the blame on himself and have accountability for the season, that is all fans want to see from him.

Remember these are the same fans who he blamed for poor league form at home.

It makes me sad when i see people on here blaming our defenders for not seeing out a game for the umpteenth time, yet they follow instructions out given to them by the manager
Well there's a bit of naivety there. The manager isn't solely responsible for everything the players do out on the pitch, and the players don't follow the instructions given to them down to the tee. I'd highly doubt Martinez was telling the players not to close down crosses, they're our weak point in defending, and for the sake of Martinez, I have some hope that he can see that.

Then why don't we?

Why have we not closed down crosses for large parts of the season?

Significant line crossed today wrt to the near term future of the manager.
It would be tragic if tens of thousands of blue noses had to travel to Wembley under the current situation with the manager + already out of pocket.

I'm making a point that this whole thing is ridiculous and fans need to grow up or just finally accept it's a soap opera that is being marketed and sold to them. It's not about the sport, that's merely the conduit for an entertainment industry because people keep buying in to this utter nonsense.

Disagree. It is a sport and yes sport is entertainment. It is not a soap opera, if people wanted to watch a soap opera they would turn on their tv.
If people choose to watch football good for them, if they want to participate in a forum dedicated to their team of choice then that is also their choice. I think its quite condescending stating `its being sold to them` of course it is. Do you think you are telling us something new? Something we do not know? Some choose to buy a ticket, season ticket or subscribe to a sport channell, free will ..... and a forum provides a platform for people to participate in ........ or not if that is what they choose

Why do you assume you are telling us something new, that we do not allready know and choose to make up our own minds up over ?

If you see it as `utter nonsense` then good for you, but a lot of us disagree.

Perhaps you should throw away your telly, computer, and go and live in a cabin in the woods, you could then write a book about
the `ills of society`as it has not been done before.............

GET RID NOW - 1977 ALL OVER AGAIN 2 SEMI FINALS BUT SACKED BINGHAM BEFORE BOTH JUST HOPE GORDON LEE ISNT AVAILABLE

Gordon Lee's time with us wasn't as bad as some make out. A league cup final, 2 FA cup semi - finals,77/78 season we finished 3rd and were also the top goalscorers that season as well. 78/79 season we finished 4th, think it was more down to his dourness that make some fans think we were really crap when he was with us.

He can't handle pressure, its the sign of a man who has cracked and he his struggling. We once had a proud team who would fight till the last minute for this club, yes we underperformed at times but the players knew it and didn't hide the next game.

I feel like he has ripped the heart out of this club, the fighting spirit that we once had is no more, 11 individuals who are trying to play this mythical way and its not working and yet the manager is unable or unwilling to rectify it/

The last 2 season have been a sham; he should have been sacked after those Hull comments last year, then he goes onto blame the fans, the players everyone but himself. He's built his team and the football on offer is awful; like Wigan, we look good one in every five.
