I get the same. Spoke to someone recently who said he viewed Nottingham Forest and Leeds as bigger clubs than us. I don't think he was on the wind up either.
Exactly
2PTS. bracket 11th to 16th...what's a 5 place drop cost in prize dosh then eh??
Man Utd sacked Moyes with 4 games of the season still to go, gave Giggs the caretaker job although he was never likely to get the full gig. And he won all 4 games! No reason why we can't let Big Dunc and Unsie takes the reins for the rest of the season, backed up by some fatherly advice from Joe Royle and re-build the broken relationship with the fans. Then spend the first part of the summer getting the right man for the job.
Still be here come the Bournmouth game, play a few kids, and we are not going to be booing him with kids in the side, are we ?
I get it, but no point cutting our nose off to spite our face. Just can't see us maintaining our league position if he stays, it's going to cost us more than 2 million.Don't disagree at all - put that in the next post.
Could be nearly a £6m downswing on it if we fall far enough.
For me, I just find that paying Martinez £2m if it is avoidable is abhorrent
Not convinced by the decline in value of players now linked to final league position - is a 25 goal a season striker worth less for where his team finishes? Doesn't really reflect his scoring ability. But do agree that lower places = less TV money. But for me you are gambling the pay off against MAINTAINING the current league position as there is limited chance of improving it. Plus, again, giving avoidable money to Martinez
Leeds are a myth, what have they ever done to deserve being seen as a huge club?
Esk, as you say, no one outside the club knows which way he is thinking. Even within the club I expect there isn't half a dozen people who know this either. I am not doubting your bona fides, but can you be so sure your information is sound.Mate if you have a scroll through my posts on this thread and the Moshiri thread you'll see that it is not Bill's decision, the Board will do as Moshiri demands. Martinez does not feature in Moshiri's vision of the future at Everton. The only remaining issue is timing, be it hours, days or end of season, no-one outside the club knows or has had an indication of his thinking on this subject.
Logically it should be now as there's no footballing reason for him to remain.
It must be spending half of their history in the lower leagues that did it, people are so stupid, an opinion like that counts for nothing because it's plain stupid.
Didnt he sack Walter Smith?

I agree with you that unless there is some contractual arrangement then it would be better to let the manager go now and start the search immediately.
At least the new manager would then have time to look at the squad in the next month and be able to make plans over the summer.
I know mate, that's what I meant to give him the managers Jon, nothing else! LOL!!He meant give him the job...not the other thing you had in mind.![]()
