This is me at work today after checking GOT to see if Martinez has been sacked yet and realising he has not and isn't likely to be anytime soon

What did he say about Moyes?

Nothing that I can see.

He said sommat about ten years of mediocrity and the line itself doesn't make much sense.

But such us the Martinez hatefest going on here at the moment, people who despise Moyes more than they ever despised Bobby are being recreationally offended on behalf of Wee Davey

We even have a thread were the words of that fine, upstanding, respected and respectable TV and radio presenter Richard Keys are being regarded as carrying great gravitas.

:hayee:

Have to admit, after the semi final on Saturday I was convinced he would be gone by today.

I still think he's as good as gone though.

Maybe they're allowing him the rest of the season out of respect or something.

Personally I don't see the point in keeping him on any longer if the decision has been made to let him go.

I thought the same. Though it seems that 20 minutes where we s̶c̶o̶r̶e̶d̶ forced an owngoal gave the management a little bit of hope.
Definitely think he'll be gone by summer at the latest. Sooner if 'out' banners and whatnot become more prevalent.

Hes saying that with cash to sign proven winners to supplement our gifted youngsters, Martinez may do a very good job.
I share the view.
I know lots of others who do too.
You're better than these types of posts Tubes.
Is he suddenly going to buy Kompany, De Gea et al? I feel there's very few that share your view. Throwing money at the team will not sort the problem. Basic bloody defending is our problem. If you're gonna have a pop at tubes, which to be fair was a pretty sarky post from him, so fair enough, tell us why you believe he can organise a defence, with 100mill to spend. From my point of view it would be blind faith. I know I now sound sarky, but it would benefit posters on both sides of the fence.

David Moyes only fell below the 50 point mark once in 11 full seasons with Everton. Roberto Martinez is on track for two successive under 50 finishes.

Now let me just get this straight - I don't want Moyes anywhere near us but it puts things into perspective for those that claim we've made progress...
many things show we have made no progress to be honest, too long a list these days lol

But yeah, considering the long list of things, we have regressed quite a bit.

Their starts as Everton manager are similar though - Moyes: 7th, 17th, 4th, 11th.

Martinez: 5th, 11th and looking like around 12th...

But 13/14 tho. That was our season.
Oh, Liverpool nearly won the league that same season? And Rodgers was sacked less than 2 years later? Nah, Bobby is definitely the right man for the job.

/sarcasm

Just thinking out loud here: is there room to suggest that, maybe the reason the inevitable announcement of Martinez's departure is such a long time coming is that the club are hoping to secure the services of an adequate replacement before releasing a statement?

As I say, just a thought like.
