We were mostly expecting him to be dismissed at some point in the last couple of weeks, certainly since Saturday, but so far nothing.

Let's assume for argument sake that the delay is waiting on Mr.Moshiri concluding or massively progressing contract negotiations with a successor and that Martinez is still in employment for Saturday.

Will the assembled media give him a grilling and what on earth will he spout in response at the pre-game press conference ?

So i was thinking about this, in my opinion the only reason to wait if we are negotiating with another manager would be if that manager is available now and could start for the last couple of games. If so, then my over reaction reading of the signs point to we are going all out for Mourinho. Tingle tingle... hahaha

If its a manager in employment which @The Esk has eluded to then my guess most won't move before the end of the season, so its a null point they either get rid now or the end of the season as it makes no difference in regards to someone coming in.

Comes down to business matters then in my eyes, financials etc. but more then the £2m getting banded about.

I dread to think what will happen in the pre match presser tbh!

He should have had the decency to resign really

He knows we don't want him here

Still, I guess he must really want his compo money, so this sad situation will continue to drag on
Its millions of pounds compo though mate.

All our own doing for giving him bigger contract.

I'd be holding out for it as well like.

Do you know how thankful I am to have four absolutely woeful sides in this division. We'd be in trouble if not.
Good point bluegirl, you only have to look at the league table and there's the answer to the board. He's defo gonna go just suprised he hasn't already today

@The Esk - said the club want to bring in someone high profile. Talks like that could take a while and they don't want to finish with Martinez until we have someone lined up and the papers signed.

Has any Everton manager failed to beat Liverpool in as many attempts as he had at it?

6 attempts, four draws and two defeats, for a failure rate of 100%

Saying that though, under Moyes we only beat the RS 3 times in 22 premier league games, losing 12 times against them.

Think as Man U manager Moyes played the RS twice in the league, losing both times.

Yep said it a month ago, we are lucky there has been some utterly dreadful sides this year.

There's dreadful sides every season. Last season it was Hull, Burnley and QPR. Granted none of them were as bad as villa this season like, but they were certainly no better than Newcastle, Sunderland or Norwich this season.

35pts, 33pts and 30pts were the totals of the bottom three after 38 games....
