I thought Saturday was painful. Yesterday was hugely frustrating. Today though, feels like Groundhog Day. Yet again, could we miss out on another opportunity? We've had in recent memory: Lack of quality replacement for Kendall mark 1, failure to capitalise on beginning of PL, numerous failed ground attempts, the Royle fiasco in '96, the NTL collapse, the failure to buy well in summer 2005, the failure to get a quality replacement for Moyes. Yet again, we're at a crossroads and I'm getting fearful we're set to not kick on yet again.

Maybe I'm been overly hasty, but for me, the perhaps likely decision is now that we will wait until Summer to decide (in which case I would be equally dubious we would even sack him then, especially with a couple of encouraging performances before the season ends.) The problem with that, given it's only four games away? As plenty of others have already mentioned, things could and perhaps should, get pretty toxic if we're continued to be left in the dark. Given this, this will only be encouraging players to look for a move come the summer. Then, suddenly the task of adding a few quality players suddenly becomes a total rebuild. Meanwhile, clubs with their management already in place, can take advantage of the summer in adding one or two other players and bedding them in during pre-season.

By waiting until the end of the season, we will be throwing away two months (May and June) in which we could be organising pre-season, setting out playing targets, and keeping hold of our quality core players. Even if it is a statement from the board that we are looking at replacements and Bobby will be relieved of duties come June, then that at least sends out that statement. We could then be working on plans with the new manager with a view to him starting in the summer. The damage that way would at least be limited.

By simply staying quiet, which is looking incredibly likely given the vitriol beginning to emanate from the press and certainly the fanbase, things will become extremely unstable, and we will miss our moment to keep up with the top half of the table. Leicester will improve, along with West Ham, Stoke et al, as will the other more established clubs. That gap is already firmly there between 10th and 11th. It's time to act now. Do I trust the board to do so? On past experience, not at all, and the pressure is firmly on Moshiri to deliver, quickly.

They'll definitely sack him EvertonRhys, they have too. If it was up to Kenwright no but the new guy has the biggest stake now and much more to lose. As I see it and I've been there since 74 Howard Kendall going to Spain was the start, the mis-management at the club in the face of Hysel still affects us to this day. All England clubs were banned from Europe Everton should have had a clear plan to still be the best side in the Country when we got back into the European competitions which turned out to be 4 years later. Instead Kendall bailed and it all went into decline. I was really upset with Kendall I wrote to him and told him to walk over to Anfield and take a look at their trophy cabinet, after all he had claimed he had achieved everything that he could with us, which was nonsense. Man Utd were the big winners from that.
It's easy to get depressed about it but I do believe now that we will get a proven manager a winner I really do. I'm suprised they haven't sacked him already but they will in the coming days/weeks. Kenwright is too soft but I'm sure Moshiri will be ruthless otherwise he'll be made to look like a fool. He's been involved in football for ages and will know the fans and players are against RM that alongside his failure this season will be enough.

This season could only get any worse if Norwich and Sunderland win their next 3 games, and we lose ours.

Not likely, but end of April and we aren't mathmatically safe. Thought those days were gone.

I have believed steadfastily that as you say, he will be gone. I just can't get my head around why there has not been a statement or a sacking at this point. What benefit whatsoever is there by not announcing something now? It would placate fans, who as far as I can gather, are as restless as since the days of the 90s relegation fights. It's not in anybody's interest, especially Moshiri's to procrastinate any more. If he wants the change, then there is no way Martinez could be retained. The evidence is there. Truth be told it has been all season. If it is the loyalty clause, I'd be surprised if that prevents us at least letting our intentions be known. I guess it's just that that's making my paranoia grow that we may not see the change needed. If we do something this week, I'll be relieved. If nothing until the end of the season but we do sack him, I'll be frustrated it was delayed. If we don't, I'd be devastated.

Will put my faith in the more level-headed posters such as @The Esk and yourself for now though! Like everyone, just want this horrible chapter to end. Sooner we move on, the better!

He's really not going to be here lads. Categorically he's not.
A lot of people being paranoid but I believe 100% he'll be gone. I have followed your posts with interest Esk, you obviously have info, I don't but his record this season speaks for itself ;)
