Errrrm Dave you do realise that the got lucky getting Lukaku refers to his original loan not when he bought him don't you? seems from your response you think i mean when we actually bought him which would be silly :)
He tried to Loan Ba in got knocked back and then was offered the chance to take Lukaku on loan isntead - so mate in any definition of the words that was bloody lucky

He changed the way we played at the back completely? hmmm from a building up attacks point of view he did start to thats for sure, but in which case why did effectively the same defence you have just slated as players - Jagielka being the classic example suddenly become unable to defend from last season onwards? and i'd give credit to Martinez for the first season of a very defensive coach who took over this nsquad and the fact it would almost certainly have a lot of attacking flair remaining that first season, to not give credit for that first season shows how blind you are mate, you know i hated moyes but god at leats i can acknowledge the fact he had this team drilled defensively and had their fitness high and that doesnt dissapear overnight

This team right now is better and more advanced than our best ever 72 points total wodnerful marvelous season mate? really? have you actually watched the way we routinely collapse in games, the fact that the manager has made numerous terrible calls in too mamny games to list now and the fact that every single team turns up at Goodison knowing they can get three points regardless of even being a couple down in a game

We don't press as a team because your favourite man doesn't and never has had his teams pressing as anything other than a one game thing mate, its not in his phillosophy to do so, the only players we have who press do it as part of their natural game as they are energizer bunnies, Besic and Lennon, we dont close crosses down because the manager doesnt prioritize it, he sees everything from an attacking mentality and point of view and whilst that can be a good quality when its the only quality it becomes amazingly narrow sighted and easily taken advantage of
The Lukaku thing is a complete strecth. Dont embarrass yourself any further with that mate. 'Sources' indeed.

On the defence: you're asking me questions that you should be addressing yourself. It's good to see you accept that the set up at the back was different under Martinez in that first season and that it had no ill effect on our solidity. The players under Moyes at the back were no more vulnerable in their defending than under Martinez. So that leaves you rather than me having to account for their weakness in the past season and a half. You're the one who rates Jagielka and Baines and Coleman. I see defenders who need to prove themselves all over again and defenders who clock off alarmingly easily. Why are they doing that?

The thing is here that Martinez signed Besic, Lennon and McCarthy and supposedly Niasse is a workhorse too so he is signing players who press the ball.

Dont you think he will bring in a new keeper and sign defenders in the summer?

Hahahahahahahahahhaa

isnt it obvious that the young team he is developing (and will add to in the summer) will improve over the next 5 sessons as they develop as individuals and play together? Its also unlikely both McCarthy and Besic wont be fit at the same time...

Seems quite obvious all these young lads will get better together

Stones, Lukaku and Barkley will all be gone

maybe because far too much of the trainign the players do is technical mate, and not enough on the defensive and fitness side of the game

they need to have a balance and thats the key word balance, we don't have any whatsoever mate, ive stated the reason their has been a drop off in defending a few times dave, we are now a fully martinez team, the training from the previous regime is now drilled out the players and this is what martinez teasm look like, he fluked a first season as he brought a lot of attacking flair to a defensive structure and players well drilled in that side of the game and thats the one part of the game he is utterly incapable of organising.

Using an american football term - he is a great offensive co-ordinator who ahs been given the head coach role and has been found out his depth, and some of the best ones in that game have failed in that role

No idea on a keeper, honestly don't think martinez sees the need for having a top one, so he will probably stick with Robles, and signing players who have high workrates is a band aid fix, the real test would be imroving the entire teams stamina and workrate, otherwise you end up with a player here or their pressing when its more effective when its done as a team

You arent up to speed with Lukaku's quotes then. but you said you are a football guru in the niasse thread and then wrote him off within 15 minutes...seems all a bit of a stretch to me....random jibberish.

@mkrudden isnt it funny that theres a clear difference with people who make these kind of anti martinez posts and those that actually read the information that comes out of the players mouths....i think you said before you found the quotes in 18seconds online :)

Who knows if that isnt the next stage of the teams development after working on their technical passing games next may well be the defensive side...we wont know until the start of next season.

I mean, no one can actually think hes going to be sacked can they? That would be madness.

Looking at your posts i dont have any comment to make...

Going on talking absolute crap. The defence that he doesn't want provided him with his best defensive return since he's been here. Banging on about that jags, Coleman and baines can't play tika taka, behave; these are seasoned internationals and your trying to sell it that they can't pass a ball.

Double slap there bud, get up when you have a valid argument.

Arsed if he wins today and gets a few easily pleased blues a day on the piss at Wembley, he's been a disaster this season.
