Arsenal played well but it's indicative of our game management. They were in poor form and very low in confidence after going out of two tournaments in a week. Do we capitalise on that? Do we ever seize the moment or an opportunity?

No, yet again, we let ourselves be the springboard for other teams.

Yep mate agree entirely.

I'm just so frustrated this year. It's been more frustrating than the past decade of season's combined. I'm convinced we have the players. We just don't have the leadership, backbone or a competent manager. Roberto is a goner too I'm certain after his interview.

Anyway. I'll just try keep trying to say the same thing I always say to myself...... We are everton. Success will come. And when it (FINALLY lol) does, it will be sweet.

But gtf roberto you absolute monstrous tit

If anyone needed proof that the players have stopped believing in this manager then today was it. Absolutely no fight or passion, they all looked as if they didn't want to even be there. No shame in losing to a team like Arsenal but the way they all didn't look at all arsed for the entire game, shows they've all completely given up on this season.

Has to go, no ifs or buts.

They don't care about the league, I don't care about the league.

They fought like tigers last week.

No but what I'm saying is, is this result on its own enough to change his job status? Nah. We lost to a good Arsenal side because the players didn't turn up. If we continue to lose at home I'll probably change my tune as well, but not because of today.

What makes the defeat worse though is it was to an Arsenal team who have only won 2 of their last 9 premier league games, knocked out of the fa cup at home by Watford, knocked out of the Champions league, and played Wednesday at Barcelona, putting a shift in as well, so confidence must have been at an all time low, so instead of us getting in their faces, closing them down, we just stood off them and let them pass the ball around, they probably won't have a more comfortable win for the rest of this season.

The simple fact is the guy does not have a clue what hes doing.

We have played Arsenal several times now and Wenger is tactically too much for him every time and bob has absolutely no idea what to do when things don't go to plan A.

The fact today he brought on Stones for Besic sums it up, we're losing 2-0 the last thing you do is bring another defender on and go 5 at the back, how is that going to help us create chances, we then left Cleverley and McCarthy as a lone 2 with Barkley being Arsenals 12th man today, Lukaku isolated and frustrated at the rest of the team and Lennon non existent for large parts of the game.

His game management is arguably the worst ive seen of any manager, 2-0 up winning comfortably has happened a fair few times this season and every time a change has been made which has killed the game and not in a good way, he throws it away by continually attacking and then today at 2-0 down he brings on a defender .... What is going through his head to think winning comfortably = more attackers and losing without any attacking threat = more defenders.

Hes the modern day footballing equivalent of Houdini, every time he looks dead in the water he gasps for air right at the end with a victory or a cup run to give hope when the honest truth is, we have no hope of going anywhere, we are about to lose a few big names this summer cos who would want to stay playing for this trash and the only way is down as long as he is in charge of us. He's a cup manager and thats it, brings nothing else to the table anymore except for some good ideas involving training upgrades and a friendly family personality in the public eye, everything else he is below par as a manager and would be lucky to get another job like the one he had at wigan.

Here's my point: Everyone bar...well, not barring anyone, actually...midweek accepted Martinez is here at least till Christmas next season...then we get another loss and there's people convinced that is it, he's going either now or in the summer.

You can see how no one could take these people seriously?

Of course he'll be here. There's a difference between accepting and wanting that to be the case though.

People aren't stupid; we all know he won't be sacked unless we lose pretty much every game from here on in.

Nah, it wasn't a solicited backing for the manager, it was spontaneous.

You're clutching at some very short straws there mate.

Last week's game was massive. This weeks not so massive. What was there to lose basically? Nothing.

There;ll be more criticism, more gnashing of teeth. Then we'll get a couple of wins and things will settle down. The SF place settled this issue last week. A loss to a team like Arsenal fighting tooth and nail to stay in their last trophy hunt is going to be seen as a loss that didn't come out of the blue.

How do people not see this? The fume needs to be placed to one side and rational thought needs to prevail.

so basically dave if we went on to lose every game this season thats left in the league and manage to win the cup, you'd think that was fine and martinez should keep his job, simple yes or no answer mate, no caveats, no first season bollocks or 60 points new target etc, simple yes or no?

What was more worrying today than anything, we looked like an ale house team.

We really need this car crash of a season to end, problem is unless there are changes we will be in exactly the same position

2 seasons now of woeful performances with the odd decent one thrown in isn't going to cut it. Yeah we score a few goals, but the amount we concede cancels that out.

Everybody in football knows we are underachieving and is questioning the manager, apart from a few on here who of course have a much better insight and aren't just admitting they are wrong.

So you're talking on behalf of everyone to suit your agenda? No Evertonian I know wants Martinez to remain at the club beyond the end of the season, FA Cup win or not. That opinion is also apparent on this forum. Reasonable Evertonians have formed their opinions about Martinez over the long term, not game to game.
