Still doesn't change the fact that 72 points is our record total in the Premier League. Even if I do sort of agree with you ;P

But it only got us 5th indicating that there were a lot of poor teams in the league that year as 4 teams finished above our record total
Fantastic achievement it was. However, we still finished lower than 4th, so in the end it means a whole bunch of nothing. We essentially moved up a whole spot from the year before, and even in said year - it's not like Martinez performed some black voodoo magic and we got twice the points from the year before, was it? 9 more, not 19 more... With the essentially same squad and a good striker, it was surely expected, seeing as we were finishing in the 6-7th spot regularly?
