The first sign of failure would bring about the same toxicity.

I'm not big on Martinez. But he's young and he's learning, I see a lot of positives and I recognize the negatives. But I think you're right on this. Whatever he does now, bar a Alex Ferguson like turnaround. I think his days are numbered. I've always said this, our supporters ultimately decide to sack a manager, when all is said and done. The last thing a board won't is the ire directed at them.

I just don't see the learning. If I saw any sustained signs of that I might be a little easier on him

I couldn't agree more. IMO Martinez is being judged far too harshly, and sadly I fear that change is the only way forward...not because I don't think he's up for it, but it's become so toxic that I don't think it would be reversed even if we won 10 on the bounce. The first sign of failure would bring about the same toxicity.

Ultimately his positivity appears to be his downfall. Seems many would much rather have a dour soul as the manager of Everton. I for one do not want that, but I guess we can't always get what we want.

Nobody minds positivity at the right time. There are times when it's not appropriate which he doesn't seem to see

Very much calling the shots I imagine. Martinez is here to stay, the knee-jerking here won't have made any rumblings at board level, of that I'm sure.

I would have expected that moshiri would have secured generous voting rights as part of his investment

I really don't see how sustained poor performance over 2 years can be called knee jerking. Surely knee jerking is thinking it's problem solved on the back of one result over Chelsea.

I think you are choosing not to see it then. If you didn't see an obvious change in the way we played in the second half of last season and the improved attacking play this season, then I don't know what to say.

There have been a few highlights but overshadowed by lowlights as the results show

Kenwright will stay the course despite the choppy waters

That's a good point about Kenwright. And we all know he's fared some choppy waters. I don't want to get into a discussion about him. As Groucho said about him last night, his time is nearing an end. Just like Moyes, Martinez is his man. Moshiri might think differently.
